I've been playing with my Al Maxmadco for a week or so. Not as impressive as I thought it would be.

I wasn't impressed with the steel or aluminum.

The Titanium is where it's at!

I thought you sold your Ti Maxmadco. The bolt always gets stuck in the middle of the L-path.

    Ha-Ha! So true!

The R600 is thinner but quite comfortable in my hand; this Al Maxmadco is fatter but very uncomfortable and slippery, due to its gloss finish and no grip section. A Pilot G2 can rescue it in an easy way. Basically, I'm turning an $85 pen into a Pilot G2 with a bolt action. What a waste!!!

Yes that is the problem with the aluminum and steel versions: too slippery.

The Titanium has a bit more purchase due to the material and/or finish of the material. You can have him add grooves to the aluminum version for $30 I believe which would greatly add to the grip.

I think the two things holding the Maxmadco Bolt back from being perfect are:
    1) better grip (either knurling or grooves, I'd love to see the micro grooves like Tactile Turn pens use on the entire body)
    2) deep carry pocket clip

You should talk with jim about the bolt issue. He's actually very receptive to all feedback, and helps you fix the issue. For him, the spring tension also matters -- so I ended up receiving a pair of spare springs when the one in my pen rusted (this was an anomaly according to him). He explicitly forbid me from using any spring. :)

These pictures make me very jealous! I simply carry a 0.28 mm retractable pen, which I pick up at Mitsuwa market

The copper Retrakt is too heavy for my EDC needs...thinking I'm going to sell or trade it for an Aluminum G2 Bolt..?

Where'd you get this More Than A Pen? I saw one seller at that auction site put some up, but that's about it. I thought it had a similar bolt to the Böker Plus Tactical Pen K.I.D. CAL .50 and I asked the person about it, and then the account was deleted, only to have another account open and selling them a few years later.... Just curious.

Just got the Matte Black one. At first sight I was like Meh, after a day of use I like it a lot. The stylus works well. I do have a Titaner TacTi stylus on order to see how it compares.
