bmwboris - No worries! Glad ya got the info. Well, this Field Pen came almost 50 years after (rounded - 48-ish maybe) the AG-7. Funny - the astronaut pen was one of the first things I thought of when I saw it as well - small world! My first experiences with a side-button-push-to-retract mechanism, though, came when the "gravity-activated" multipens popped up with that feature; I have an earlier version of the Fisher triple-action pen (before they came with the stylus option) that's reviewed there - that was actually my first online pen order (snippets of the order confirmation next, fwiw - I think the "TA" in TAN referred to triple-action): Date of Order: Thursday, September 3, 1998Order Number: ---This is a confirmation of your order for your records, and it also includes your order number, shown above.Ordered by:Ship to:Items Ordered: Item : TAN Pressurized Black and Red Ink Ball Pens with a .7mm Pencil all in one, Stainless Steel & Chrome with Rubberized Finger Grip - Gift Boxed
I guess since I'm in Texas, my package arrived sooner. These are the new tactile Turn Slider pens from Will Hodges. The Cu is my favorite. The stainless will be a Christmas present for my oldest son. Beautiful craftsmanship!
Looking for a good edc pen, maybe tactical, just not to big and something where you don't have to hold the cap while writing? And preferably not to expensive.. JR
I have couple of pens in my head now. Parker IM with Schmidt easyFlow 9000 refill Zebra F701 mod with Fisher Space refill Karas Kustoms EDK with Schmidt easyFlow 9000 refill Pentel Energel Alloy RT with Jetstream refill Here is a photo with some of my EDK pens:
The Pentel clicky is a nice pen. But I managed to mess up the clip on mine. The Retrakt is a Very nice pen the runs G2 refills. Highly recommended.
I've got a metal pentel energel that I was running my refills through, but now that I've discovered that my energel refills fit the paper mate inkjoy gel pen bodies, I've been using them instead. It's not a metal pen, but it's more comfortable to use. --flatline
Nice pens, I have a space pen, and a lot of those zebra 701's, those are one of my fav! Those Karas Kustoms look cool just a little out of my league, I have a UZI imitation coming for trial, hey for $3 it's cheaper then a 701! JR
Any 'clicks' type that accepts a Parker style refill can usually be fitted with a Fisher refill. Nice thing about those refills is they are pretty impervious to leaks etc. You could also get the Fisher AG-7 astronaut pen, which is a clicky, with action similar to some of the 'bolt' style pens you see in the posts above. Although not 'clicky' type, the Retro 51 Tornado pens are really nice; a twist mechanism that is one-handed. These also use the Parker style refills and hence can be fitted with Fisher refills. Did you get a tracking number beforehand? I'm waiting for a Cu & Ti and didn't need to have the hole enlarged for space pen refills. I'm just getting too anxious!
I had an email stating the package had been mailed along with a tracking number. I had the Cu enlarged for the Space pen refill. Took two days to get here first class. Will is only a couple hundred miles from me though.
Got a converter cartridge for my Lamy and loaded it with some Cult Pens' Deep Dark Blue ink. It looks fantastic on paper.
