my thread i described it pretty well there as well as a few more pictures! since putting it into use, it has a more burnished look and is not as bright and red as before!
NOOOOOO! I was using your post about how heavy it was to justify to myself not needing one. Now that you tell me it writes really well, I'm feel that tinge to get one again! (I'm absolutely clear that I don't NEED one, but that's never stopped me when it come to pens before!)
Haha, I think it depends where you are in life. My pens give me some smiles...I enjoy them. The SS Maxmadco is 1.7 oz or thereabouts. It is not a light pen. You will feel it in your shirt pocket. That said, the weight does not detract from writing with it...probably because it is balanced. I think the weight only becomes a factor when carrying it... The clip does a good job keep it in any pocket. But I think you know its there unlike a Jotter that is so light sometime you don't know its in your pocket.
I was gifted a Karas Custom Retrakt in Aluminum and since it clips securely in any pocket including tee that I'm rocking to it!
I was gifted an Aluminum Retrackt pen by Nusm. It clips securely in even a t shirt pocket and holds G2 refills as if it was made for them. It is in my truck shirt pocket as I compose this post.
NeoZeon I'm slow on the draw here because I was away from the board for a bit, but what's the pen you posted? It almost looks like a custom brass shell until you see the tip. Very nice shape to it.
If you mean a Japanese Fine nib (ie a Western XF) with the proportions of a Montblanc 146 (ie not fat) then sure. I get that people like different things but I don't understand the huge popularity of these turned metal pens. I had one and just could not use it for anything more than occasional (short) notes.
I think it comes down to how well something balances in your hand. I've got some heavy pens that are terrible for long writing sessions, but my Embassy pen is just as heavy and is wonderful for long writing sessions despite it's weight. Of course, if your pen doesn't weigh anything, then balance isn't an issue. I can write forever with most of my fountain pens simply because they weigh so little that fatigue is never an issue. So either model can work. It's just a matter of picking something that works well for you. --flatline
