I don't write for long periods of time with these pens, so I cannot comment if they are slippery for extended period of time. These are more pocket friendly, quick note taking types of pens.
I can't speak for the bronze, but I've got a titanium that is my current EDC. The titanium is the perfect amount of grip, not slippery at all.
Dearly beloved We are gathered here today 2 get through this thing called life - Prince Got on the notification list for this weeks ago. It arrived at the pen shop on Tuesday, I ordered it, it shipped that afternoon, and I received it this am. Lamy Safari extra fine nib in the 2016 limited edition run of Dark Lilac, filled with Noodler's Kung Te-Cheng ink. Yes, it's bulletproof, but I filled it only part way, and I have the pen cleaner on standby. It is purple. I shall call it my Prince pen.

So, this isn't a very hot thread I guess. Still rockin' the lamy Swift, but now that I have made that simple pouch I have room for the safari EF nib and either a 2aaa light or a 1aaa and Chapstick in the winter.
The larger one is the leatherman skeletool CX, and the smaller one is the leatherman style cs. I recommend them both highly.
I've been very pleased with the Avant capped pen with Pilot .5mm and the Coca Cola pen with a G2 .7mm
I've read that Tops made a video where they put the pen through drywall, so I'd say it could be used for that. It's plastic, but it's one of those sturdy kinds. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I only use the finest writing utensil. Okay I lied. Cheap, it writes, I don't care too much if my partner steals it, easy to Decon, and if it gets too nasty I can just trash it and not care.
PBJS II: did you ever resolve your need for an affordable fountain pen replacement? If not, you might want to consider the Pilot Metropolitan line. In the neighborhood of $15 at multiple retailers. So, I've just spent far more hours than a rational person would going through this thread. But given that I actually have been into pens longer than even knives, I choose to ignore rationality! I notice that many people do like the Fisher Space Pen cartridges for their dependability -- with good reason IMHO. I also noticed that for most, Fisher Space Pen seems to be synomynous with the 'Bullet Pen' (in its varied permutations). I have a bunch of those also; especially make sure that is in the car as it will write even in mid winter and does not leak even in heat of summer. What puzzles me is that many folks also were kind of vocal about not liking capped pens; wishing for a version which is 'clicky' and hence fun to play with.. etc. But throughout the thread I saw very very few references to the 'original Astronaut' pen. Which is where Fisher really got there start. Several models; the base one I think is labelled AG-7. No cap. It has a 'clicky' mechanism that maybe could be considered an ancestor of bolt-action? By which I mean the tip is projected using a top mounted button; retracted using a side-mounted button. Now before I get chastised, I do realize the term 'bolt-action' is based on the similarity to the a rifle. I've sat in many a meeting playing with an astronaut pen (playing with the 'clicky') so it makes me wonder if this might be of interest? Just sayin' L'chaim y'all! Moshe ben David
