Thanks. It's the first vehicle I bought new. I commute in a company car these days so my truck will probably last forever.

It probably will, I have a 1995.5 Taco with 250K miles on it and its still going strong, no oil loss etc... Manual tranny is getting a bit long in the tooth but that's it.

Good question. I used to be a Jeep guy. One of the projects still on my to-do list is a JK Unlimited with a Hemi.

Daily driver Vespa GT200. Cold weather gear under the seat, and a few tools in the glovebox. It won't hold much more!

Right now I'm driving a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I would post pictures, but it's nothing special. 230k miles and going strong.

I would love to get a new Wrangler 4 door Rubicon though!

Nice! That's what I want! I like the Rubicons, but they're pricey. I need to stop buying knives and start saving for a Jeep.

My plan is to find a basic Unlimited with a blown engine - maybe a flood vehicle from the East Coast - and replace the entire drivetrain. I'm pretty sure the stock Dana 44's wouldn't hold up to a Hemi, 35" tires and my lead foot. :frantic:

I'm not too into off-roading, but I guess it all depends on what you want to do with that Hemi :)

If you're doing anything other than city driving (which I'm assuming you will be) you're going to need to upgrade maybe to 60's. 44's should be fine for normal use though. Again I don't really know what I'm talking about. :)

Thankfully, I do. :) My most complex Jeep (TJ) build included a Corvette engine, Mercedes Unimog axles and a home-fabricated link suspension.

I'm going to guess and say the Unimog axles were for the Portal diffs, and the greater ground clearance they allow ?
    Sounds like a Beast anyway

From what I understand, due to the Portal diffs, the Driveshafts have to spin backwards compared to most vehicles, sounds like it would be an interesting challenge to make them work

not much room for any EDC gear. this is my project bike, a 1968 BSA. so far the only mod i'm doing to it that would fit this thread is i'm concealing a fixed blade under the seat

I fixed my too-bright diamond plate toolbox with a couple of rattle cans. I'm sorry y'all had to see it when it was all shiny.

I spend a fair amount of time in my Frontier, so it gets a fair amount of stuff:

Benchmade Houdini (might put my 915 in there instead)
    Maglite 2D with Malkoff drop-in
Peak El Cap and Nite Ize headband
    Swisstool
    Knipex mini plier wrench
Stainless water bottle, full of course
    GPS and charger
    Gerber shovel, saw and hatchet
Compass, whistle, fire starters, paracord etc
    Jumper cables
    Rope
    Duct tape
    Crazy Glue
    Zip ties
In winter: Patagonia DAS Parka, Micropuff pants, gloves, hat, pair of Sorels

Most of the stuff sits in various compartments and I use a couple of Nite Ize pieces to hold the little stuff and the Maglite. Need to pick up some kind of summit sack to shove under the seat and use if I need to hoof it.
