Does anyone know of a nice pen worth EDCing and refilling that uses the Pilot G2 gel ink refills? I really dislike the "Bic" style ink that is used in Fisher, Cross and other typical refills utilized by most EDC pens. The only option I see in a search on here is reference to the Microtech Siphon that rings in around $145... Not exactly the price point i want, I'm hoping for something under $75. Thoughts, guys? Cheers
Karas Kustoms Retrakt or Bolt or Tactile Turn Mover are three nice machined aluminum pens that take G2 refills. I really like the Retrakt at $45, quite a nice pen for the money. That being said tons of pens take Pilot style refills and there are some good ones in that style...the Itoya Gel is my favorite and is way smoother writing than the G2. The G2 definitely has the advantage of being ubiquitous and available anywhere though.
The stylus pens from big i design accept Pilot G2 refills, and the XTS version uses mini G2. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Maxmadco bolt action pen. The aluminum one is near your price point. It uses the Parker gel refills. Light weight, excellent writer. I have the stainless as well, but prefer the lighter weight in actual use.
I have 3 of KarasKustoms offerings. They are FANTASTIC. They sell pens specifically made for the G2 and they have barrels that use the Schmidt EasyFlow 9000. I like switching between the two. The Schmidt refill is less common, but far superior in my opinion. Customer Service you ask? They set the standard I now use to measure it by. The only problem is, with three of their pens (the copper bolt being my personal favorite...) I never use any of my other pens.
Huge fan of the Karas Kustoms Render-K pen, i use g-tec-c 0.3 refills in mine but they are compatible with several other inserts. I write with mine every day since i got mine
Machine Era original brass $38 or Urban Survival Gear TiScribe Bolt. Most if not all Waterman Rollerball pens take G2 Pilot refills too. Another option for less money is the Pilot G2 Limited pen.
+1 for Tactile Turn. Several of their pens will use this refill. Some of their shorter pens will also take it if the refill is shortened.
Check out the Titaner Pen. It's titanium, light, takes the Pilot G2 refill natively, and it's only $40 right now on Amazon.
Not sure if it's what you're looking for because it's a click pen, but it will take pilot G2 regular and mini G2 refills plus Parker and some others. Also under 40.00 https://everyman.co/products/grafton-pen
I just started reading about this one. I'm debating getting one. https://everyman.co/collections/frontpage/products/grafton-pen Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Yeah..."I wouldn't bother to steal this"...."I wouldn't recommend this Everyman to any man"...hilarious. He has a point, the Grafton is overpriced for what it is. Take the $35 and you're halfway to a really good pen.....or take less than half that & buy a Parker Jotter which, as he points out is twice the pen for half the money.
The Urban Survival Gear TiScribe Bolt accepts G2 refills. The copper version is slightly over your budget. I carry one in titanium almost everyday and very much enjoy it.
