I’ve been trying to find a sling bag for my edc. I don’t plan on putting a lot of weight in it. I’m trying to steer away from the super tactical look. I was set on the Oakley extractor, but a lot of people said the strap is too small. I also looked at the Patagonia atom, but that was way too small. I just started looking at the Maxpedition edgepeak Basically I’m looking for a not too tactical 10-15 liter sling bag. Appreciate any suggestions
I embarked on a similar journey. Mine was a bit more specific but it certainly gave me a few ideas. https://www.edcforums.com/threads/non-tactical-sling-pack.137070/page-2#post-2671638
Aers? Greenroom metromonger? I need sling that fits the side I like to carry them. Some of they are optimized for one side. So check first. I like my new Katara 16 even though it can be tactical looking depending on how you use it. I think multicam these days are "in fashion" so I can get away with it P.K.
3V Gear Shift has been fine for the few weeks I've been using it. + Non-tactical look is nice - Only made in black
I can't recommend the vertx edc sling enough. Solid bag around. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I am moving from the Vertx EDC commuter to a backpack. Sling bag was awesome for getting through TSA. But I found walking through airports etc with laptop etc in the sling bag and the uneven weight was getting uncomfortable, and I was the only one I saw with a sling bag so I was standing out. I have no complaints about the design features of the Vertx though!
The bag that I use to go through TSA? Osprey Pandion with the kickstand feature. I can set it down when waiting in line However for the last trip I took my new MR 1DAP and it was great. So now I am torn as to which bag to use next trip. P.K.
Maxpedition entity 16 is interesting. Not without flaws but also a good feature set. Pac safe makes a nice sling but only in smaller capacities. Can you identify make or break features for your choices in a sling. Exterior water bottle pocket is something I strongly prefer for example.
the 5.11 moab 6 or 10 looks amazing, i am thinking on buying the version 6. [Sling Pack - 5.11 Tactical Moab 6 | Official 5.11 Site - 5.11 Tactical](https://www.511tactical.com/rush-moab-6.html)
The 5.11 Moab 10 is an awesome bag. Maxped Sitka , Jumbo and Malaga are also fine choices. I'm a bit a of a bag user. Used all the ones listed in rotation depending on needs. Moab 10 has survived countless trips to Disneyworld, Smokey Mountains and work bag.
Here’s the one I’ve been using for travel lately. It’s a no-name brand off Amazon that is made really well and is holding up nicely; Versatile Canvas Sling Bag / Urban Travel Backpack, Grey | Wear Over Shoulder or Crossbody for Men & Women, by NeatPack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KMMD7PA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_hpVxBbFDA17D4 I’ve downsized a lot of what I carry. Now it’s my IPad Air 2, charger and cords (I found a really cool 110/12 volt combo charger), a small first aid kit. A couple of pens, a small notebook and a 24oz water bottle. I wanted to go as “gray” as possible and this pack certainly does that.
I also have the NeatPack and the moab 6 and 10...when I only have to carry a few things I use the Neatpack..I wear it when I'm on my motorcycle it's been in the rain all summer and has held up very well.
I've got one a bit like that also from amazon (in black)and it rides better on my back that the disappointing tactical one I got from miltec. This has one strap and only needs on strap, the miltec sling needs two for it to sit properly and if you need two you might as well buy a backpack!
I'm looking for a new sling bag as well. Been using the propper bias for a while and love it, but a zipper is giving way and they don't offer repairs. This model had been discontinued to boot. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Second the Vanquest Katara. Can convert to a two strap backpack if loaded heavy, or a single strap sling. Slightly tactical design, but certain colors not so much. Vanquest makes awesome well made products.
