my personal tragedy is that the CC Organizer fits my portable external HDD like a glove... so it has been hijacked, leaving me in need of another organizer...

^LaCie and other brands make nice dedicated external hard drive cases that also have neoprene and other shock absorbing padding, good in case of accidental knocks and drops hard drives can be ruined by, that the Maxped EDC P.O. doesn't. Buy one and your HDD will both be safer and you get back your Maxped for EDC stuff! :)

    Here's one example.

mzil, thanks a lot for the heads up  I should have guessed that such things existed
this is also considerably cheaper than a PO
I'm sure I'll find something like this in Hungary

PS. just checked, Case Logic has one that's available over here, under 10 bucks, too
no foam padding, though... but the direction is set, I'm soon gonna recover my diplomat organizer

This thread has definitely gave me some ideas. I don't carry my CC pocket organizer in my pocket, but it is in my bag. I think I am going to put the items from my bag that I use everday in it. Then I can just take the organizer out of my bag when I get to the office instead of digging through the bag. Thanks everyone and keep this thread alive!

I really like the second row of horizontal elastic on the bottom for small items. I always feel this space is wasted in most organizer. Well done!

I have all of this stuff I want to carry in 1 cargo pocket.

    Leatherman Juice XE-6
    CRKT M16-10
    Aurora Fire Starter
    Maratac AA flashlight
    Pocketwrench II
    CountyComm 4" Pribar
    Snowpeak Ti Spork
    CountyComm Embassy Pen
    Assorted batteries

So I got this from CountyComm. Removed the zipper.

Now I have my "Pocket Paddle" to hold my 4" tools.

The advantage of this setup is I can retrieve my tools without removing the case. It's much thinner than other cases, thus it's thinner in my pocket.

I like these photos . They are giving me an idea: does anyone know of a pocket organizer made like a tool roll up? Whats a tool roll up, you ask? Well let me tell you (since I found out 30 seconds ago). It is like these pics above only it is much longer and it rolls up, hence the name. I have a full size one made by CLC as a tool bag and love it but a pocket sized vesion with only a single row of tools, not two, would be great for the pocket. Here's one of the full size varieties but imagine it smaller and sliced longetudinally:

Whats great about it is its expandability. For a small load it rolls into a tight cylinder and the quick release nylon belts are pulled tight. For a bulky large tool roll the cylinder is larger but the nylon belts quickly reacomodate the thicker roll up. I give my tool bag a solid 9/10 stars. If I could find the same thing for the pocket I'd be psyched.
