^Nice simple kit...I'd protect the battery tips from dirt/oil and accidentally shorting with a bit of plastic wrap (we call it "Saran wrap" in the US) though. You never know when a stray paper clip or dusty old staple might fall in your bag and wreck havoc.

    ---
I don't know for sure; I only own the Telescopic. The Expandz look rather similar though (in pictures) and seem to be easier to come by these days (Staples near me no longer have the Telescopic, but they do have the Expandz).

This SU4F Fisher cartridge is a common pen size. I just measured mine with calipers as being 2.33mm (.092 inches) in diameter and 66.63mm (2.623 inches) long, once you have snapped off the two extensions to make it fit in the Telescopic. [It is just a solid, same diameter cylinder from tip to end.] See if the Expandz cartridge is that same size/shape and you should have your answer.

    Nice kit. Questions:
What do you regularly use paracord for?
Lighter is for fire starting or for smoking?
A Leatherman PS4 couldn't replace the nail clippers?
    You don't carry money?

    Thanks

I don't regularly use the paracord.. but I do like to have a piece with me and it's light and doesn't take up much space.

The lighter is also just something that serve a lot of purposes.

I just got the Tweezerman clippers, they are small but work great.

I carry that in my front right pocket..

I also carry a Spec-Ops T.H.E. Jr. Wallet in my right rear pocket, with cash and credit cards and stuff.
A hanky in my left rear pocket.
Chapstick and keys in my front left pocket.
    A Kershaw mini-biner on a belt loop
A 3X5 Notepad, Sharpie Twin Tip, and a Power Tank 1.0 in my shirt pocket
A Casio Ravine on my belt, front left
And a kel-tec p-32 with (2) spare mags in County Comm Diplomat on my belt, left rear. (I'm left-handed).

That stuff all goes with me everyday.. It might sound like a lot but it's all spread out and works well for me..

Spreading it out has definite advantages, it's true. Thanks for the answers.

How big are all these pouches when compared to a typical cargo pocket? Will they all fit, or will some (like the maxpedition fatty one) be too bulky?

Hi mtwarden! We are having an ongoing discussion about the use & carry of the Micro. Couple of us are thinking of getting it. Let us know what you think of it.

Just check the Maxpedition website for sizes. Measure your pocket. See which of several fits best. Micro and mini both fit in back Jeans pocket, the mini is tight.

Do you ever carry your micro in the front pocket? I want it for that, but am afraid that if I put much in it then it won't be comfortable.

Just tried. So-so, feels bulgey (is that a word?) in jeans, and I'd want to take half my kit out if I were going to carry that way. But it slips in and out just fine.

Just so you know, you're talking to a guy who has a certifiable hang-up about front pocket carry. I can't stand the feel of even coins in my front pockets. Even a dime will drive me nuts. Keys? no way. Any front pocket carry for me must be clipped to the top of the pocket. So consider the source on this one.

I'm thinking I may need to purchase a second micro...I'd like to have a survival kit in one.

if you had really roomy front pockets and the organizer wasn't overly packed, it would probably work- imo it's a little large for front pocket carry

Strange that nobody's made a front pocket organizer. I'm thinking something of a keystone shape. Not for me under any circumstances, with my front-pocket issues and all.

Has crossed my mind too, more than once. If I had the time I would get on it but I never seem to. I think that would take off like a rocket it someone were to release it..

A pocket organizer that actually fits inside a pocket

Here is homemade pocket organizer that can fit inside a shirt pocket.

    Front side
    [IMG]

    Back side with knife
    [IMG]

The inner pocket can be removed for an even more discreet carry
    [IMG]

    Front of small compartment
    [IMG]

Back of small compartment with knife
    [IMG]

Typical contents: pen screwdriver, misc. pen, air freshener pen, soap pen, and knife

Thanks for putting yourself through all that(front pocket carry) for lil 'o me. :)

I carry so much in my RFP already, but it's so tall that I think squatting will be uncomfortable. And I do a lot of squatting. I've waited to "pull the trigger" (very common phrase on theis forum) until I gather more info. I may find something custom made by Metropolicity fit my needs better. So far, I haven't seen anything perfect for me. I'll probably get a micro for a subdivision of the "mothership".

Where's you get the little spray bottles? Recycled breath sprays?

And for that matter, what all do you have in the bigger container? I can recognize the Krazy glue.

Yes, the spray pens are recycled breath spray pens.

The contents of the bigger pen are: earplugs, Gorilla tape, mechanic wire, and krazy glue.
