It's odd, but until just now I hadn't realized I have a pocket organizer other than my 3x5 Notebook cover from Maxped. (not in current use). And another one besides my CountyComm tan pocket organizer (Need to fill it up).

I also have a Nite-Ize Pocket-its loaded similarly to the one shown in the link below, but with a few changes. I actually found the same main folding knife described in the link. It's not flat at all though. The integral pocket clip on the other side actually more than doubles its thickness. So I passed on the one I found. Being a serf . . . er, I mean citizen . . . of NYC, I removed all of the locking folding knives from the kit. Main blade is the one on my Leatherman Kick multi-tool, with a secondary blade on my red Victorinox Classic penknife. (I used to have a SAK credit card toolkit. But I removed it due to the small blade easily being classified as a concealed-carry fixed blade. A big no-no in NYC.)

Just like the kit in the link (2nd to last one near the bottom), mine also includes a Mini-Mag flashlight. But modded with a 1watt LED drop-in and a reverse-clickie tailcap switch. Along with the aforementioned SAK Classic and multi-tool, there's a book of matches, nail-clipper, sliding rod diamond dust sharpener, Bic lighter, thin folding utility razor, mini-sewing kit that is surprisingly well-stocked, complete First-Aid kit stuffed into the back panel, cut-down pencil, three large safety pins, coin-cell LED flashlight.

I know Phil Elmore switched to a slightly different kit that works best for him. But his original concept is a good fit for me. I like that it can stand alone, or be part of a BOB.

Iamsalomon, very nice minimalist design! Sweet. Which Maxpedition product is that? Would I be correct in assuming a vinyl credit card holder ("wallet insert") would fit in the pocket under the top section (under the tools)? They are 3.75 by 2.5 inches. I am designing a complete kit based on what they can hold and this looks promising.

I've seen smaller ones that are intended for pens, but I'm sure you could stuff them with tools as well. Exempli gratia from Jetpens:

    ^Thanks.

Looks like the thing I seek is called a "tool roll", I guess, or a tool roll case/bag.

Mzil, this is a Maxpedition 3x5. Additionally, I think your credit card holder should fit in the pocket.

    Best,
    John

If you wear loose fitting jeans, and have deep pockets, it should. When I don't wear my cargo pants I put it in my coat pocket.

Thanks, Jerry. I appreciate the info.

I guess this is just another great idea/product that will not work for me. :brickwall:

Perhaps an Adirondack or Hunter's Pocket Sheath is my answer? The search goes on!

Here is my new mini edc pocket organizer. It is an upgrade from the 3x5 notebook cover I have been carrying. This is not a true edc, as I only carry it at work. It does however fit perfectly in my scrub cargo pocket. Here are the pics and a list of what I carry.

    This may not be classified as a Pocket Organizer, but the truth is, a wallet is in fact just that (^;
I still use my card keeper for cash and cards ...

So, where do you buy the pocket paddle? I googled it and it pulled up a, lets say, naughty search result:laugh:

County Comm, it's called a Pick Pocket Case. The one that is pictured on this thread has been modified with the zipper being removed to become the "Pocket Paddle."

iamsalomon, maybe an odd question but can you zip the 3x5 inside out? also how deep is the notebook pocket, big enough for a phone?
