Appreciate the convenience.
I was warned about bankruptcy when I signed up for this forum.
I look forward to more gear. Thanks.
While your in the bst forum, be sure to purchase from "creekster"....he will appreciate it : ))))))
I too have a bunch of stuff to sell! I will get pics of my EDC up soon.
I should be right there....
I was wondering the same thing, thanks
Great (sarcasm), another place I can find things I "need".
Thanks for the heads up.
Oh! I was wondering the exact same thing! I'm going to be "rebalancing" my collection this Spring, and was hoping to reach out to this target-rich environment of like-minded folks. (Knives, flashlights, multitools, a few Atwood pieces, bags, etc. The usual.) Now I know the drill.
To clarify bit more, to "view" BST sub, as was mentioned, requires 15-post count. To create a For Sale or For Trade thread requires +1 or greater supporter badge ($5 for a +1; good 3-months; renewals strictly your decision). Buyers are NOT required to have a supporter badge.
We use to have a saying over on the head-fi forum....
Welcome and sorry for whats about to happen to your wallet....
hahahahah, so true here as well.
Shameless post to get one closer to my 15.
Just wondering, whats the point of the minimum 15 posts restriction to view the BST section?
Doesn't it just encourage useless posts like the one above?
BTW, the only reason I'm asking is to help me get my post count up so I can see the BST section
Good question and comments.
Candid answer. EDCF isn't about hosting low-cost alternative to that well-known auction site. But we do want to provide a marketplace, by and for our like-minded gear-addicted members. Not perfect, but one way to discourage drive-by BST listers is the minimum-post requirement. Many are lazy. If they have to meet even a modest 15-post requirement, they'll move on.
You are right. Might be perceived as encouraging "post padding." But not all who rush to achieve 15-posts for BST access are evil. Just anxious to participate in all that EDCF has to offer. Understandable. Leaves those few with less honorable intentions. Those have a way of sorting out over time.
Another way to discourage drive-bys is the +1 supporter badge requirement if one wants to create a listing (remembering, no supporter badge required for member buyers). And yes, the happy by-product is that those badges support the forum (read: help defray fixed operating expenses). And we sincerely thank you all!
Many among us are members on other forums, and will recognize that many (most?) forums who offer BST have adopted similar policies to manage.
Thank you very much for the info. I was wondering why I couldn't see that forum. Only 14 more to go now…
Ohhhhh I see. thank you!
I'm on several other forums and always edc but after lurking here for awhile me edc has grown.
I best get posting then
Nice, 15 posts.... let's reach them.
