Hey guys! I'll preface this by saying i'm not trying to promote myself or what I personally do on the side for a living...but after about a year of doing survival and preparedness instruction I broke down and made a YouTube channel. On the channel one of the videos I decided to upload was on EDC knives and the functional capabilities of them. These are just a few of mine but I figured i'd share! http://www.youtube.com/user/henrycuramsurvival Thanks! Enjoy!
Thanks! A little new to the videos obviously. Can't wait to tell some of my regulars that come to instruction! They'll get a kick out of it. I edited my first post and included a link this time.... **side note: all of my videos are being processed so the shaking becomes more stable**
I've never had the courage to talk about gear on such a large scale using my actual voice! Good luck on this, there can never be too many voices and opinions on gear to help people determine what gear will suit their needs.
Feel free to suggest gear, or types of gear as well. The phone filming is tough, but i'm making progress! I plan on covering some.... Firearms Knives [lots ] Medical Equipment Custom Gear Tactical Gear (Mainly just holsters, and things like that) Bushcraft technique (that will be filmed during my late August survival class) No nut'n fancy project or anything, but there are strides to be made!
New video is up, review of the boker plus rhino, and S&W M&P. Tomorrow I should have a video up for CRKT products exclusively.
My choice. Victorinox Swiss Army Rucksack Strange thought of the week: “My father always said that government is like watching another man piss in your boot. Someone feels better but it certainly isn't you.”
Thanks. I've been subbed for a week or so. Good stuff. I'm 64yo, and taught survival about 40 - 30 years ago. Much has changed not all for the better. I've been putting together an eclectic collection of knives for longer than some of you have been alive, and I love the new stuff. But lately, for EDC, I've gone for simplicity more and more. Part of this is due to nearly cutting my left thumb off with a pocket Bushman. Love the knife for its simplicity, but the lock on mine is TOO stiff. 18 months of rehab, and last week I fell and broke my left arm in a place it can't be cast or splinted, so it just painfully dangles. Useless. So about 20 months ago I started looking at oh knives. Most are too big. So simplify had been my mantra. Even though some aren't oho, they still work. Mercator Kat, SOG Slim Jim, Opinel, Svord, higodashi, and any neck knife. SAK oho. And I find I'm using these knives more than ever. In restaurants , at farmer's markets, at Ikea, to tie things on the truck, and especially at home to open nearly anything one handed. I'm expecting a Case Russlock in the mail tomorrow. That should round things out. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
I'll definitely check your channel out, sometimes seeing the gear in hand or maybe the medium of video itself really helps me make a decision one way or another on an edc item I am contemplating. One more opinion ismore data, that can never be bad (well except for my wallet)
