    Hi guys,

I'm looking for an edc bag that will fit a good amount of gear that isn't too expensive.

Back pack configuration and durable. No crappy zippers that last two zips.

I am not looking to invest too heavily as my kit is a bit noobieish and will grow.

    Any recommendations?

Btw I'm living in Sydney Australia so I probably couldn't afford buying a second hand one unless it's good and cheap due to shipping costs.

Jansport. Tons of options on a quality non tactical edcbag that won't break the bank. Killer warranty to boot!

My recommendation ... 5.11 Tactical Rush 12, my EDC bag of choice. A black one for AU$110 local delivered via evilBay.

However, given your situation and pricepoint, namely that you "couldn't afford buying a second hand one unless it's good and cheap" then I recommend you start op-shopping.

The Ridgeline Trooper is quite cheap in the UK, from about £25 and quite well made for the money. Although checking Australian prices they are more like 100 A$

Ya might be able to find some of those old Medical Satchels. Those work pretty well and can be had for cheap. Probably can find them anywhere.

If you want to try a sling bag, the Red Rock Rover is a good bag for around $30usd. Not sure how much it'll be for you though. I've carried one every day for the last year and like the layout. For the size, mine holds a lot more than I expected it to.

Backpacks are stupidly expensive over here, usually due to the $50ish every arse wants to change to ship on top of the exchange rate.
All of a sudden your $60 bag is now $150-200 from most folk.
I've yet to find a good online supplier with reasonable shipping for budget packs.
I'm kinda leaning toward amazon at the moment :7

Ie, the pack I think I want is 102 from amazon. 159 from eBay or 219 from a local supplier.
    Otherwise know as $65usd

Brisbane Outdoor Gear makes some cool stuff. A bit pricey, but hey, no 50 dollar shipping :D

I got a maxped knockoff from eBay a couple of years ago to see if I liked the style Of bag,

    one of these

And it's still going strong. It's loaded with a few kilos of kit, and get thrown around work vehicles and my car every day. Brilliant for the money as I was expecting it to fail within weeks. Only issues are a zip puller snapped (zip is fine, just the brittle puller broke), and it's finally wearing through on the bottom through abrasion, but there are just 2 tiny holes, and like I said, it gets abused!

I have this bag. I'm just worried the zippers are going to give. Also want a bit more room. But good for its price.

I don't know if Platatac still has a positive reputation in Oz, but have always found their packs to be good quality. Some of their medical packs are very similar in style to the Kifaru E&E - Try the PAFA HERD or the MED ECHO packs.

THIS. I'm probably going to spend the $50 shipping to have a BOGEAR sent to me from Australia.
