I am finally upgrading from the Galaxy tab 7" to the Galaxy tab 10.1 But this also mean that I need to upgrade my EDC bag from the Maxpedition Fatboy. I need to be able to carry the Galaxy of course and the rest of my EDC kit(Se link in signature). I really like the tactical look for my bags. Hope you have some good suggestions
My wife carries her Asus 10" netbook in my old Fatboy. The Tab won't fit? Sure you'll like the Tab. My father in law has one and playing with it has convinced me that I too want one.
What about the SO Tech Messenger Bag? The Mission Go Bag may be a tight fit. http://specopstech.com/osc/images/mgb_vs_mmgb.jpg http://specopstech.com/osc/images/mmgb_on_body.jpg http://specopstech.com/osc/images/mmgb_w_labtop.jpg
Thanks for the sugestions Both the SO Tech messanger bag and the Lunada looks good. I Have the 5.11 rush delivery messanger bag, for my laptop, I can use it, but I want a bag that is quite small. The SO tech bag is a laptop bak, and looks a bit biger then I need, and want. The Lunada looks great and I really like Maxpedition, but I get a feeling it is also a big big? Do any of these provide some protection for the device?
The lunada isn't padded, though the CCW pocket in back has some padding. The tab will fit there as well, but is a bit exposed. In the main compartment, are two pockets it will fit in besides the bulk space. The inside pocket against the CCW compartment was my preference. I have ghost armor on my Xoom screen and I used it without a case or sleeve in my Lunada for a couple of months until I found a the roocase sleeve I liked. I didn't have any problems. No scratches to the screen or damage to the tablet.
I have now found the perfect bag. The Kato from hazard 4 so strange, now others have created a tacticle tablet bag.
Good choice. You'll like it. Really fills a void and pretty unique right now compared to other options (as you stated in your post).
Just think how strange that sentence even is now. "A tactical tablet bag." Welcome to the year 2012.......If only we had flying cars. Then it would be great. Lol.
My asus transformer, also a 10.1, fits nicely in the hydration pocket on the back of my Maxpedition Sitka with some room to spare.
I have an Asus Transformer coming on Wednesday. I figure I'll just sleeve it and put it in the laptop pocket in my 5.11 COVRT 18 backpack. If I'm not wanting to haul it that day, I'll just put it in the sleeve and carry it in my Maxpedition sling pack.
I thought about doing that also before I decided to purchase the Kato. The problem is the laptop sleeve in the COVRT is much larger than any tablet and therefore it will be knocked around in there. Maybe not a big deal but these tablets are so new - nobody really knows how much abuse they can take so I opted to not to risk it because I would totally be pi$$ed and disgusted if that happened.
Just a follow up. I ended up buying a leather case/sleeve for the Transformer and carrying it in my COVRT. However, I have a Maxpedition MPB Attache coming soon so I can carry it and a laptop too. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I currently use an S.O.C. Messenger Bag for my EDC/Tablet bag, but it's a little overkill. Just shy of $50 though, and it's pretty durable. I just replaced the strap for the sake of comfort. It holds a LOT of stuff, and my Acer Iconia 10" fits in the bag zipper compartment up against my body. http://www.amazon.com/Sandpiper-California-Frag-Bag-Messenger/dp/B004NXB5I6 I think for the tablet I'm going to go with one of the Cocoon Innovations Tablet Wraps, for grab and go when I don't need alot of other stuff.
Nice thread. I have a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus so I'm also keeping an eye out for a good way to haul it around. I have it in a cover/stand right now but may want to move it to a neoprene sleeve when transporting it.
