Hi guys, so I was checking out Cutlerylovers new edc vid on youtube and he had this cool little duct tape holder on a key chain a fan had sent him, I'm sure its already been posted on here but I thought it was a really simple really clever little idea.

Basically its just a cut down biro with duct tape wrapped round and some para cord threaded through then knotted at the end.

So here is my take on it, changed a few things added a split ring, GID bead to stop it moving up and down and a GID para cord pull (all on GID para cord of course :) )

Probably got about 5m of duct tape on there.

Let me know what you think, cheers

    RS.

    It's... beautiful... :smitten:

Where did you get the Niteshade Aerohead from? I can't seem to find any retailers selling them...

Saw the same vid. Your improvement on his duct tape keychain carrier looks good. Ironically, I have the very same type of GITD lanyard-pull.

That's cool, I've been looking for a way to carry duct tape without wrapping it around a credit card.

Very nice! 5 meters is awesome, I will surely try to make something similar to keep on my edc bag.

Get most of my para cord stuff from a UK online retailer www.fivestarcord.co.uk.

Just checked and they do ship worldwide, hope this helps...

I got mine from Lighthound. Nice selection of other gadgets, too, and international shipping, of course.

After seeing this thread I made myself one for scotch tape. I did a lanyard for my box cutter since I frequently need tape at work. Just looped it through the hole, did a short noose knot, slipped the pen barrel on then finished it with a lanyard knot. I used the barrel to a pilot g2 which was plenty fat enough for ungutted paracord.

how does that "wear" in use?

my duct tape roll itself gets beaten up in my bag so it has few layers moving inward making sticky parts on the corner of the roll.. i would imagine one of these gets even more rubbing in the keychain. the creditcard method by shape is less likely to be vunerable to partial peelin of corners.

i like the idea but i would like to add somekind of washers or similar in the ends of this roll of tape to improve wear resistance. :)

I used to carry some in a flat setup so it would lay better with my keychain setup. The drilled keychain hole was small not to weaken the tape integrity too much.

i made one of these last week, its pretty cool and ive already used it once.. i need to get some gorilla tape and make one that goes with my black keychain lol also thinking of ways to use a steel bar flattened on one end w/ lanyard hole drilled, to weigh it down a little better and a thinner spool allowing for more tape to be used.

I used a 2" cotter pin, and wrapped it with Gorilla tape, then put a mini caribener at the end.. came in handy twice already! thats for the key chain, the one for the EDC pack, i used a fake credit card (the one that you get in the mail, oh this is what you can have if!!) that i wrapped up and took a ziplock bag, not a sandwich but a snack(the smaller one) fits perfect! also came in handy once.. Do you have a link to that specific video?

I checked out Cutlerylover's YouTube channel and I could not locate it. :-/

    Thanks!
