I haven't had an episode lately but I have made a few eBay purchases while under the influence. So far I've bought only knives and fortunately they are knives that I wanted even when sober. The alcohol seems to reduce awareness of my actual financial station. Here are a few examples I could have gotten a BWI for (bidding while intoxicated)

Buck Duke 500...my first foray into the world of enebriated eBaying
    [IMG]
(from l to r) #3, #5 & #6...I actually bid on the end two at the same time.
Imagine my surprise when I won both the next day.
I know there are a few others but I can't remember which ones they are because I buy a lot of knives regardless.
Please feel free to share your experiences here ;)

most recently.....this was purchased while laying in bed, intoxicated, right before going to sleep. i was going to buy a flashlight, but couldn't make up my mind between a few different ones. being tired and drunk i just randomly pulled the trigger on one. i don't think ill regret it

    That's a nice light.
My biggest fear is I'll wake up one day and find I won an auction for a ninja sword or something equally stupid.

Never anything EDC related but I bought a 300 dollar video card for my computer and didn't remember till I saw the confirmation email. I kept it.

i think in this instance, being drunk didnt hurt me it just helped me make up my mind about something i was already considering.

off the top of my head, the only impulse drunk buy i can RECALL making that i regretted was some.....uh..... questionable adult.....material......on ebay. I forgot about it until it showed up in my mail box.....but thats not really a story for this forum

I do that once in awhile myself. Pound a few back and start hitting the button. Happens to the best of us............Most recently, I was looking for a blade to take on a trip plane that wouldn't be a big deal to lose if some sticky fingered bag handler/TSA rifled through my stuff. I ended up with this and I'm actually impressed. I don't promote knock-offs but I was looking for a throw away or I can gift it before I leave.

Vintage material or novelty? hahahahaha I ask because... why else would you have to go to ebay for that?

The worst thing eBay ever did was add a button to instantly up your maximum bid instead of manually entering it every time. It got me in trouble a couple of times.

Back in my frat boy days, I used to drunk eBay all the time for vintage stuff from my fraternity. I couldn't tell you how many antique pamphlets and books and pictures and random tokens I ended up with.

you know how sometimes (i know at least some guys do this), if you are intoxicated, you might go look at stuff on the internet that you wouldn't normally consider looking at if in your right mind? well......i ordered some DVDs that fit that bill....and i was sober when they showed up :(

    Was that directed at me?

Cause I did have 2 or 3 paddles at one point.

I think the coolest thing I had was this tiny notepad that was made out of brass, and it had the fraternity crest on the front. It was maybe 2 inches tall and an inch wide. It had a spring open cover to it, and was held closed by a tiny pencil. It was from 1919. It had a printed list of the all the current members in the fraternity at the time, and some hand written notes regarding the history of the fraternity that we're required to learn, and one page had an "I love you <3" written on it. It was pretty neat stuff.

Better buying while drunk than because you're mad.

This used to be a big hobby of mine! I was technically under the influence when I ordered a Maratac AAA light the other night but I was going to get it sober anyway. Speaking of swords... Years ago, I once spent $1000 dollars on really crappy swords at the renaissance festival. I was shamammered and my friends all thought it was funny, they were drunk too so I guess I shouldn't be mad at them for not stopping them. I gave them all away as gifts except for one I call the VUH-JJ sword ummmm because it sorta has one on it!:D

I don’t drink alcohol very often, so I do most of my nonsense while being sober. Like buying an Alox Lumberjack …
