That's ridiculous and frustrating. Just last year when I went to vote in a local election, the polling staffers would not accept my concealed carry I.D. (you know, the government issued I.D. that takes 90 days and a law enforcement background check to authorize), but they WOULD accept a college student I.D....you know, the kind you could fabricate at home, on your computer. WTH?
I would rather deal with the State department then give my info to the DMV !
The easiest would be implanting chips with relevant info. Forehead seems the best. Then you just scan.

I've had my MN "enhanced" drivers licence for a year now in July. Mainly because I didn't want to fork over the money for a passport in order to go visit family in Canada. Getting in and out of the US/Canada has been no issue. However its added complexity and caused some interesting experiences when purchasing things that require identification since most people still don't know what it is.
