    Because I do.

Let's face it. Lanyards are handy. They can let you hang your keys on your neck or give something to hold onto. And they're not just for keys either. They're for IDs as well!

So, do you EDC a lanyard, and can we see it?

Here are the ones I carry/or use to hold keys.

The two "Dante" lanyards are my EDC lanyards.

The one on the left is for my school ID. The one on the right is for my keys.

The two in the middle are for keys I use at the house. Such as a gate key or a gun key.

    So, do you lanyard?

    Nope.
Can't stand the things. they're a pain to hang around your neck, and they invariably present a choking/entanglement hazzard.

That said, I do have a whole draw full of the things.... :)

^ What Bob said. If I wanted to hang myself one day, I would use a real rope. :)

I have one - has my work ID on it, and typically rides tucked into a shirt pocket.
Its the first thing i take off when i get home from work, i strongly dislike having it around my neck (even with the breakaway)

The places that ID has taken me though :)

I used to keep my keys on a lanyard. All my friends did as well. Now, with more stuff on my keys, a carabiner is a much handier way of keeping things sorted.

Negatory, I sweat too much. Only Ti and quality stainless on my key set.

My gal has her work badge on one. They have their uses, but not for me.

( I like the title. Everybody lanyard, now!)

I used to always carry a lanyard... the problem now is I am always hopping in and out of the forklift and the lanyard always gets caught on something :(

    This kind of lanyard:

Whenever I goes in the woods I use one on my knife with one end looped through my belt loop. The excess rope goes in my pocket. Saved me from loosing knives many a time.

Seriously though I know you meant the work lanyard: yeah, on occasion, I HAVE to wear one if I'm at a TLA agency.

No lanyard for me either. I work in a state psychiatric hospital. I've got enough fellas trying to strangle me without me helping them...

Having lanyard on keys seem so 1995. But they are handy for sure

I never have anything around my neck.
If I was to get into a fight with somebody and they had something around their neck, I would use that to choke them. Now, reverse that. That's my reason.

"I'm a Plumber" on the front

I have a few lanyards, each supporting a small LED flashlight, located in various rooms of the house. We use them in case of a power failure.

I don't wear a lanyard, I use them on my knives - the fixed blades and the folders. But I do have a stainless steel chain - with a break-away - around my neck and under my shirt. As per my usual overkill in all things EDC, the chain holds an aluminum whistle, a PocketWrench II, a spare key for my car, house and my mother's house, a P38, my medical dogtags and an EagleTac 25A flashlight. I really hate being locked out and my eyesight is getting so bad I have to illuminate the small writing on just about anything. Keeps me from stubbing my toe in the dark as well. Stuff is darn heavy until you get accustomed to the weight. A larger diameter chain helps keep it from cutting into your neck.
