Nice picture, just can't beat hds... Seems like everyday I like mine a little more and a little more.
Hrm. I can't say that I've discovered the perfect anything in my EDC given that almost all of it can and does get moved in and out of the rotation. The Zebra F-301 compact pen is probably my favorite and "perfect" pocket pen. I've tried carrying the Fisher bullet pen, but I always manage to lose the frigging thing, which gets expensive. The F-301 is a little bigger, feels a lot more comfortable in the hand, and is cheap enough to replace semi-regularly - which is weird, because it's also the pen I don't lose nearly as often.
Victorinox Alox Cadet is close enough for my needs. I don't know if it's perfect or not, but it's all the pocket knife I need.
I think the leatherman juice is one of my items that i like the most and would replace the same day if i lost it.. Specially after i started using a diy belt sheath for it that made it possible for me to carry it all the time
Nearly everything I carry is subject to random, "ooh shiny", upgrade. You'll have to pry my 5" Knipex plier-wrench from my cold dead hands though T "typed" on a sketchy little glass faux keyboard by a fat fingered middle aged guy who can't figure out how to optimize the autocorrect...
I think once I come up with the gut hook/serrated blade for my wave it will be exactly the tool I wanted so....not yet.
I don't think there is a "perfect", but my perfect MT is a Leatherman Original Wave and the perfect fixed blade is an ESEE-4. Other than that, I have yet to find any "perfects." But I'll still look!
Alox Farmer and ITP 1AAA, Moleskine and a Fisher Bullet pen. Perfection. 4sevens preon 2, Vic spirit, Leatherman Charge TTI are on the short list. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
No, but I will keep searching and buying and acumilating stuff and even if I get close to finding something that I think might be perfect I will try something else because, well..... I think the journey is as much fun, if not more, than the destination.
Where I am in my life: Perfect knife: CRK Mnandi - classy, strong, smooth Perfect pen: Parker jotter - affordable, classy, clean. Tho I'm eyeing the boker kid for a more modern/tactical look Perfect light: Klarus Mix6 - perfect modes (m-l-h-strobe) Perfect wallet: Chester Mox - best looking leather I've ever seen but want a bifold and ordered a saddleback credit card wallet in tobacco. Perfect watch: overall use: gshock (5600 or 6900) Multi tool: small would be rambler, big would be a wingman
Perfect Sak: Vic Super Tinker with Plus Scales Main blade, spare blade, awl, scissors, bottle opener, can opener, Phillips driver, flat driver, hook, tweezers, toothpick, pen, and pin. Perfect Light: Thurnite Ti3 Natural White Beam (w/eneloop AAA) rechargeable, , good beam color, 4 modes (including a very useful firefly mode and a very bright high mode), super small, tail standable, AND pocket clip included. Perfect MT: Vic Spirit S Great tool load out, top notch construction, ergonomic handle design, and much slimmer than the comparable Leatherman Wave. What makes all of these tools even better is that they are all backed up by really great warranty programs which is a big plus for me!
By its very nature much of the stuff we EDC will usually be a compromise. A handkerchief instead of a wound dressing, a Leatherman in lieu of a wrench. The phrase 'Jack of all trades, Master of none' is an excellent description of a multi-tool. I suppose something that gets you out of trouble could be 'perfect' at a time when nothing else is available.
