Thanks - this has inspired me a bit further. I don't plan on strapping my multi-tool on my head, but I have made a couple of bungee cord lanyards and they work much better than a regular lanyard, IMO. I use regular cord locks.

But the best thing: Anyone own a zebralight? You know how much time it takes to insert the zebralight into the clip that comes with it? I clipped one of these onto my sebralight clip. Thread the big loop through the clip and insert your head. I can now quickly switch my zebralight from being clipped to something to a headlamp, from that to a neck light and to a hand held light with a lanyard. It is less comfortable than a dedicated headband, but much quicker deployment. And it packs down to nothing. There is a very easy but not so obvious tricks involved in making the bungee cord work together with the clip for comfortable headwear. I'll see if I can make the time for posting a picture if anyone is interested.

Very clever. Just don't let your friends see you sporting the bandana-style flashlight holder ;)

Interesting. I wonder what the effective size limit on the flashlight is e.g., would a Romsen G2 work as easily?
