Should say DIY, not did. I have some time on my hands, looking for inspiration. Has anyone got pics of keychain tools they made themselves? I'm working on a bottle opener, thinking I may incorporate three options for opening. I should have pics later today of the work later today.

Heavy gauge copper wire. It did not patina as well as I thought. I need to rough them up a bit more and use some citric acid.

    Oldies, but goodies:

Film canister holder for earplugs. Prybar modified for keychain carry. Homebrew suspension clip.

You know how the old saying goes.... "Everything is a bottle opener".
You do not need a bottle opener when you can open a bottle with pillow, rock, fence, tissue, a baby, shoe, another bottle, keyboard, front door key, or even with an eyebrow. Anything that comes to your way.

Not a bottle opener but it is my first attempt to make my own nuck. I cut this from discarded engine part. I'll spend my free time shaping this to fit.

I like it a little rustic for now. Once I get over this and the laziness, I'll smooth it out with high grade sand papers.

Tell me how to open a bottle with a baby. I've been wanting to get rid of my LM brewzer for a while, and I would love to know more.

The wire comes from the factory with a varnish /shellac coating. You are correct in thinking sandpaper will help your patina. I would smack it about with a hammer too, a little variation in the surface could be a nice effect. Great idea!

I very much doubt the Swiss Army would like the insinuation that they issue pacifiers. :D

I sooo want to design a pacifier with a bottle opener on the back!

Hold on tight kiddo! This ain't no twist off!

It should totally look like the kiddo is taking a pull off the beer while you are opening it.
