It's a perfect size for having with me everyday. I use the scissors a lot, the bottle opener frequently and the knife now and again. It's useful for opening packets and parcels, and can slice a lime into pieces to go in a drink. Definitely worth having one with you.

Caveat - I'm not a big knife person, the Pioneer is as big as I need outside of kitchen knifes.

Yeah, I run an engineering company here.
Nigeria is a big O&G place.

Ok thanks....we keep hearing about how 'hot' Nigeria is from a security perspective so I was curious. It sounds quite a lot like other parts of Africa currently.....(as in take extreme care !!)

    Hi all,

I've had a new delivery, from Canada to UK to Nigeria, a Skinth.

It's an XL Shield in Steel Grey with orange stitching.

    Here's the load

All fits snugly, no real spare space now, perfect.

Nice Skinth setup! That Skinth traveled quite a bit to get to its final destination. :D
Actually that pic helped me a lot, as i am looking for a Skinth for pretty much the exact same setup. Thanks for showing!

It sure did.. It's quite frustrating only being able to shop 1-2 times per year, but it makes certain every purchase is considered!

So I've just returned from my annual trip to the UK with lots of shopping!

Since I'm currently on a business trip I can show you my new bag for short business trips.

It's a Wenger roller bag, quite small, good for 1-4 day trips. It's very good quality as should be expected. It has three compartments, an admin section, a laptop sleeve and a main compartment.

I really like that it opens fully and lays flat. Here it has 4 days of clothes and my business stuff with me. The main section has two straps and on the facing side there is a sleeve for A4 documents and two mesh pockets.

The second main compartment comes with a padded laptop sleeve, and mainly I'm putting my laptop in there! This compartment does not fold flat nor does it contain any other pockets, sleeves etc.

The padded sleeve fits my laptop in nicely and I'm happy it will give it some protection.

The admin pouch is on the front, and the design of the zip means that it doesn't 'fall open' once unzipped.

Inside the admin pouch I can fit a Moleskin notebook, 3 pens, some cards and cash in a Velcro pocket.

Overall it's a great bag, I wish it had a slip on the rear that allowed me to place it over the handle of a larger bag, other than that it is great. Looks professional, I really like the main compartment organisation and it fits enough in for me.

Very interesting thread :) Subbed of course
What kind of engineering does your company do? Do you think it's "worth" it to work in a country where you need close protection like this? (not saying this in a negative way, I'm just curious ;))

    I work for a multi-national.

I guess it depends on who you are. I love it, I'm mid-30's and worked in 20+ countries. This will be my longest time in one place (I'm here for 3 years). I love seeing the world, understanding different cultures, it makes me appreciate the country I was born into.

My deliveries get sent to the UK and I wait until someone brings them to Nigeria for me, and these four just turned up in a suitcase. The 2015 Alox Pioneer Special and three from Swiss Bianco.

    And now the collection

I've been looking for a bag like that for the short trips I take. I'll have to look this one up - thanks for the tip and have a great holiday!:D
