I am looking for a good Atwood type tool that I can get into for less than 50 bucks, suggestions with pics would be great. Also what are these things that I see hanging off ppls keychains that glow in the dark?

Gerber, Boker, Leatherman and others make decent keychain tools for a few dollars. They will do their job almost as good as an Atwood tool and they certainly offer you the best bang for the buck but the look like what they are, something generic that you bought in a hardware store.
If you are looking for something with a more handmade touch under $50 there is not that much choice. I highly recommend you check out TTpockettools and Fabio dalla Costa. Or you spend about 30 dollars more for a decent Atwood. Recent tools like the G2 ghosts and Atwrenches can probably be found for $80, sometimes less.

The glow things on keychains are either glow fobs or tritium lanterns (depending on what they are filled with). They also come in a very broad price range, starting around $20 TEC (see forum store), over a couple of 3D printed varients to handcrafted models that sell between 100 and 200. Check out the work of Pete Gray, Serge Knives, Jordan Metal Arts, Toby Glowworm and others. There is cool thread here on those:

Boker Vox is a great tool for cheap.
And the glowy things are tritium fobs and keychains.
Tritium (H3) is a radioactive gas that reacts with a phosphor in the vial and constantly puts out a glow of fluorescent light.
The radiation is so low, that it can't even penetrate skin, so there is no danger.

About tritium: Keep in mind that most pictures that you see here (like mine above) have very long exposure times. It glows pretty bright in the dark but you will see nothing at all during the day.
