Sorry Corn didn't tag properly was supposed to be a comment on
Thanks me and cornholio talked in pms
Best friend got married today-
made these for bride and groom
Lovely stuff Corny... really enjoying seeing your cornmail infestation! It takes me back to when I got in to mailing about 20 years ago.
I used to make and sell quite a lot of silver jewellery, and various other bits.
I'm still doing the odd bit - never thought to post it. Currently working on a really small gauge full Persian lanyard in steel. It's a total pain in the hoop but will look good when it's done
Here's a copper version I made for a friend:
And the same in Alu:
It's not that hard a pattern to learn if you have the time. Probably my favourite over Byzantine and box chain as it feels so solid.
Don't know if you have plunged in to this place or not, but I know I found it really helpful and inspirational:
The last one I tackled was a captive round chain - really fiddly but looked good. Can't find it... I have no idea where I've hidden it!
Found it... not trying to hijack your threadz Corny, just thought you might fancy trying a new pattern or two.
Rubbish photo sorry... shiny stuff is really hard to capture with an iphone!
It's 21" long and nearly 1/2" thick. Too butch for me, will probably trade it or something
Here's the pattern: http://cgmaille.com/tutorials/cir.shtml
I used a single instead of double captive due to the ring size being a tad too big. Looks good in two colours though.
Those are so awesome nuphoria! Feel free to post here anytime! I mean, it's not like I could argue with wonder woman if I wanted to
I learned how to do persian, w/the wrong sized rings But I think that would be better to give out since it'll hold its shape unlike the box chain or high AR and ID'd box chain and byzantine.
They're easy patterns, but byzantine is still my favorite...
I've got several pages bookmarked by cg and a few others-prob 20 or more tutorials/patterns-though I like simplicity of the byzantine for some reason... and I like colors
Super sexy. Looks very nice. Is that in aluminum?
Your work is really very good never seen anything like it before.
thanks buddy! i try. i try.
My package from theringlord.com arrived this week. Finally got around to starting something last night.
Not quite sure where to put it though.
That's awesome. If it were hook-n-loop enabled, I'd put that on a bag in a heartbeat.
I think I have a hook panel I will mount it to. (My other maille panel is molle.)
ill take it!
Can't believe I just found this thread! Awesome stuff Cornie! You rock!
All these threads make me want to try my hand at these crafts...so many decisions, do I start with leather, chain, etc.
Yep, cheap and easy to work with
Got a compliment from a biker today checking out my copper Cornmailz lanyard
That is some nice work,
I think I will re do it. Change the direction and the scale. (likely will just make another.)
