MTFatboy that video link doesn't work and doesn't seem to be viewable directly either. But now I'm intrigued....
Huh is that what happened to the first thread? I couldn't find it. But what could it possibly contain that warranted deletion? I thought it's all light-hearted.
It's pretty stupid, actually. It's a kids song by Bill Harley and Keith Munslow called "Hideous Sweater." If you google it, you can probably find a version you can access where you are (this link still seems to work fine here). I would skip forward to about a minute twenty and just listen to a few seconds; you'll get the idea . Every time I hear that song on the radio when I'm driving my kids somewhere, though, I think about EDCF thanks to you
I confess....I just finished reading this entire thread I confess....This thread reminds me a lot of the "How's Your Day" thread at TSD - so, it feels like home away from home I confess....There is a thread I started at TSD titled "Out of Context", where you quote someone's post from anywhere in the forum into said thread, with no explanation, usually a statement that can be read the wrong way, and there is a veritable gold mine of content in here
My thread about what made people giggle was deleted due to people posting pictures with explicit words and non family friendly content. My debate thread was never moderated and even though people would get a little passionate about what they were talking about, it never crossed the line in my opinion. The last topic was about aliens so I don't know what went wrong. thePlumbah do you know why it was deleted?
If it was out of space aliens I don't get it (unless the whole 'probing' thing came up? ) but if it was illegal aliens I can see it going down hill. Still relatively tame compared to some of the topics there. Oh well, I'll go back to wondering what ET did that was so bad that a thread died as a result. Actually there's a confession. Never seen ET. My wife disapproves strongly of me not having seen it but never gotten round to it.
One thread was drifting into political controversy, and although quite civil, the moderator thought it was time to tie it off before things got out of hand. Although sorry to see it go, I understand the concern.
Oh it was outer space aliens and Hillary Clinton thinks we've been visited and she wants to get to the bottom of it. It was supposed to be a fun debate. Plus, any of the "sensitive" subjects were handled well and no real personal attacks. I've never seen ET either.
The civility here is certainly remarkable. And shame on you and Ben Rubinstein for not having seen E.T.
My mom wouldn't let me see it because of how weird ET looked. I must agree that he is weird looking, but maybe one day I'll sit down and watch all the movies I missed out on (star wars included)
I confess (see what I did there) that I never read that thread. I suspect that the political and religious ramifications were a violation of Rule 2.
I will add that Staff cannot read every post every Member posts to every thread in every subForum, so if a thread wasn't moderated, it isn't nesecarily a validation/justification. We rely on members help to enforce to the Rules, by using the Report button. I, for instance, peruse many threads and help new Members to understand the Rules, by pointing them in the direction they should go when I see them violate them.
you've got a good sense of humor! I like it! You're right and thank you for responding. I guess someone might have taken offense and I'm sorry if that's the case
