    Hey Guys,
I have been considering adding a coin purse so to speak to my edc. Im tired of loose change in my pockets and dropping coins on the ground when i reach for my Leatherman micra. Now, having been a cashier in the past I've seen everything from the Leather horseshoe type to the plastic football. Ive been leaning toward the round leather type that folds onto itself. I was just wondering what everyone does with their loose change?

Also, I apologize if this post is either in the wrong place or a duplicate. I did a quick search and hadnt found a similar thread.

I've never had to deal with loose change. It always goes to the charity jars at most stores or to hobos with funny signs.

Goes into my work wallet, then into a jar when I get home on weekends. Work wallet will hold US bills and checks without folding and has a large zipper change pocket. Don't usually carry change in my casual clothes.

You can find places giving away the small rubber type sometimes. I have 3 or 4 from my local bank that stay in my truck all the time. I just take them in stores with me so I can buy a drink with them or something.

I use this from Tandy Leather. It comes in a simple kit without a design so you can customize it yourself. It works very well for me.

I have a home-made money bag stitched from buckskin - works well in an economy where the smallest denomination bank note is worth over $7 and small change isn't that small.

I've been looking for an alternative to keeping the coins in my pocket, usually I either put them in a charity box or keep them in my pocket until I get home, then chuck them in my 'small change ammo tin' :)

I never understand why the UK can't just use £1 bills like US dollars...

Change is the main reason I bought a mission wallet. I use a lot of change for drinks and snacks. The zippered pocket holds quite a few things and still holds around three bucks worth of change before I use it or dump it in the truck.

I wish the U.S. would drop the $1 note and go to the dollar coin only. Would save the treasury millions if not more.

We did for a long time. Personally I prefer the coins.

I had a small leather pouch with button closure, lost it on the floor once and all the coins fell out
I then started to use one with zipper and have had no problem so far :)
I tried the Camel Active - coin holder Vegas, but didn't like it..... didn't feel secure enough.
I am now trying out a kisslock coin wallet in soft leather....

Because the coins last much, much, much longer than the notes, and therefore are significantly more economical to produce. The £1 notes lasted a matter of months before they were too damaged to be usable, the £1 coin lasts years.

I heard the other day, that Canada, doesn't use pennies anymore, as it costs more to make than a penny. We should do that here in the US.

We should, but the congressional delegation from Illinois and the producers of zinc both continue to block the abolition of the penny and the savings of millions of dollars for the federal government.

'Tis true. The lowly one cent now exists only in electronic terms. We also have $1 and $2 coins.

I made a few coin purses to alternate with my wallet for carrying loose change and other small items. I like to work with thicker leather than this usually but these work well too.
