A lighter is part of my EDC mainly due to me being a smoker. I wondered why you American guys all preferred BIC lighters rather than the most popular and well known lighters here in the UK called Clipper lighters. Seems it is because you do not have them in abundance over there. They are refillable, can change the flint and they come in all sorts of colours and patterns. They fit snuggly inside a spent 12 guage shotgun shell (i lost my last one). And i have even seen 50 cal shells made into cases for these. Clipper themselves have now even released a metal case and metal body lighters the same shape. I borrowed this pic from an auction site seller
I think it's exactly like you stated. Bic's are just much more available here. I have had a clipper or two in the past, They are excellent lighters.
Yep. I've never seen one in the U.S. despite being a smoker for 45 years (quit 2 years ago). Using a spent shotgun shell as a holder would have been the "dog's bollocks" or something British like that.
