    Hi all,

    Quick question - I am looking to purchase a Chris Reeve Sebenza as a gift and I was really hoping to get a personal note engraved on it. A couple questions:

    * Is this possible?
    * Would you recommend blade or handle?
    * Is this a good idea? Meaning, I would be so afraid the engraver would mess up the knife.
    * Do you recommend any place online (or in the Boston/New Hampshire area)?

    Thank you in advance.

    First, I would ask the maker. Email CRK and ask him if they could do it. If they don't, I'm thinking any good engraver could handle it, as long as they understand it's Ti they're working with. I understand your hesitance about spending that much on a sebenza, and then having it screwed up.

    Not many engravers equipment can do Ti & if you get a dumb one that "thinks" he can do it, it will chatter & screw something up (probably your handle)

    Their blades are most likely designed for that soft brass. Even steel cutting blades won't work well.
    Try CR 1st he will know who if he doesn't do it in house

    If you do the blade, you might want to consider laser etching.
