Is there a cheaper alternative to the TAD Lightspeed? I like the low profile look and the fact that it doesn't have the front pockets like most tactical packs. Just the price is out of my range right now. Is there a cheaper alternative that has that low profile look and fit?
I have a few packs from Cannae Pro Gear and they’re really well built. Kinda depends on the features you’re after.
I just like the design of the lightspeed. Its bullet shaped. It fits between the shoulder blades. My Rush 24 is a great bag but just huge. I don't need a ton of Molle. I want the rounded openings. The admin panel on my Rush 24 is squared off and a pain to open. All I need is about 25L. I really like the Moab10, but not looking for a sling. I don't like the normal two front pocket design you see with most tactical bags. I like how the lightspeed has a clean looking front panel.
I used a lightspeed for laptop/files and for day trips on the weekends for 3 years always on the go. Pack still looks brand new. I'd break down and buy the lightspeed if you have the funds.
What about the Camelbak HAWG? No front pockets, but may have too much molle for you Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thats a good alternative, I like the laser cut molle. Im not against the molle, i just dont use it. I have all my Maxpedition pouches inside the bag
Thanks for the replies guys, recycled firefighter looks great and easily affordable. I will probably look closer at one of those or the GoRuck Bullet.
I have carried a RUSH 12 for over six years now and I love it. Recently got a first Gen Lightspeed and am hoping to transition but we shall see. I have the hardest time giving up something that just “works” for me.
I’ve also been toying with getting the new Mira 2 in 1 that 5.11 is selling. The whole front organizer pocket like the front of the Rush 12 removes and becomes a shoulder type bag. That could really be useful for me and my application. Not going to lie though, I’m also leaning towards a Tom Bihn Synapse too. I’ve never owned a TB but the reviews and YouTube reviews have been about to cave.
As an owner of the Litespeed V2 I have to say that its biggest flaw is mediocre comfort. Im looking to replace it with something more comfortable like Kifaru Antero. TAD build quality is top notch though.
For me, it's not even a question. GR1 all day for comfort in a pack without suspension / in that volume range.
5.11 just came out with their Rapid Origin pack. It's kinda low profile, few different colors and 20% off right now. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
