CCW Belt

If you're looking for a great belt for the money, and are OK w/o leather, go with Kary's Smokejumper.

I have a beltman belt and a couple of wilderness belts. They are all good, but the beltman looks frigging great.

If you want to be able to wear it with various pants and shorts, and adjustment is important to you, I've found nothing better than a 5-stitch Wilderness instructor belt. I'm a big fan of leather, but you're stuck with the holes that are a certain distance apart. Sometimes one is too loose and the next is too tight. I've been wearing a Wilderness 5-stitch for almost a year every single day and I can't recommend it enough.

Chances are, if you're using it for concealment, your shirt will be untucked anyway. So, the advantages of a more dressy leather belt seem to evaporate at that point. No doubt there are some great makers of leather gun belts. But, they're usually pretty thick, bulky and lack the adjustment that I'm after.

I believe my vote for Beltman makes it +3 or +4. Really nothing better that I've personally experienced.

I use a 5.11 leather belt, it has a kydex insert in the belt and holds my 1911 like a champ. I got it off ebay for less then 40bux

 

I like the Wilderness 5 stich belts.I have a 1 3/4 and a 1 1/2 for pants that won't take the larger size.

 

I got this belt off of Amazon for $25USD. It is reinforced and makes for a very stable platform. I have had it for a few months and really like it. I do need to find a nice reinforced leather one though for more dressy occasions where shirt tucking is involved.

While his wait times have grown quite a bit due to the great work he does, there is also D.M. Bullard. I have a several holsters and one gunbelt that he made for me and they are top notch.

 

If you are on a budget, look at the Aker belts at www.galls.com and other "cop" sites. The Aker belts look like a very plain leather dress belt, are available in black or tan, sizes 32 to 46, width 1.25" or 1.5" and have some sort of insert to support gear or weapon carry on the belt with sag or strain . They generally run in the $45 range. I have used them for years and found them to work very well.

Remember to get about 4" larger than your waist size for ccw (I am 32" waist and have a 36" Sole Survivor heavy duty leather belt for a perfect fit. SS is very similar in quality to beltman.

Go with the 1.5" width. I tried 1.75" and it fits through holster and loop but you cant double it back under your loop after you buckle it. $52 at Sole Survivor

Sorry for the slight necro-post, but I have to agree 100% with this. My Beltman belt (1.5 inch, horsehide, brown) has been incredibly durable and hardwearing, and it holds up a handgun, spare mag, two smartphones, and my pants quite admirably without any droop or twisting. It's very handsome as a belt, as well... I easily wear it with dressier khaki pants for casual workdays.

Now to order another horsehide in 1.25 in black!

I like the rigger's belts....affordable and durable as hell. But the velcro can be a . I'm also a fan of The Wilderness belts.....
