I bought one the moment I saw them and have never regretted it. It's 30$ man! That is a ton of fun, a childhood dream realized and the coolest piece of kit ever for 30$. Are you going to need it? No. So what? At worst you could take out the spikes and use it for watertight storage, just hang it around your neck, off your bag, where ever you like. But :censored:-it man how can you look yourself in the mirror knowing you could have a grappling hook and you don't. So sad.

Just ordered the CC Micro one. Seems like a good tool for persuading stuff (such as model airplanes, frisbees, footballs etc.) down from trees. Especially model airplanes. They have this tendency to end up in high places and refuse to come down.

Those look like something straight out of the Mission Impossible movie series. That's kind of cool to show off. :)

I too have now just ordered the Micro after they came back in stock in the UK. It has been despatched so hopefully will arrive in a day or two :)

I also ordered a hank of neon orange paracord to use with it.

It might be able to support your weight and allow you to scale walls, but it is not really something you would EDC is it?

Is that a Star Wars EP IV screen grab?

If I got one I would definitely look for something to shoot it out of.

My Micro grappling hook has just arrived. Now I have it, I can't see why every single EDCer wouldn't want one. It will be useful - well one day :)

Standard paracord is way to big for this, so I'm getting some 2mm Marlow sailing rope (with 93Kg or 203lb breaking strain) which will be a great EDC rope/cord.

Could you post a pics of it with the paracord and the sailing rope for comparison?

I've always wanted one of these but I figured I would never use it. Now I'm starting to think that maybe I WILL need it!

...its true, depending on how far you throw it the air born portion of the paracord would quickly get much heavier than the unit itself, effectively eliminating its power to pull any more cord or travel any further.
