Anyone have any experience or opinions on this knife. I know they are discontinued and in limited supply on the web but I was thinking about purchasing one.

The 888 is a solid knife, if you find one at a good deal you will not be disappointed.

What would be considered a good deal?

I would consider $115 or less a good deal. The last one I picked up on eBay was around $100.

Ok, ok, here is a pic. I found one at Sportsman's Warehouse for $145 and the on ebay is up to $127. I guess we'll see. I'm not bidding on it at this point.

Looks like the bidding ended at $127.50 plus $20 shipping. I can get it for that locally.

$145 is not bad, but be patient and you can find a good deal. These are worth the wait in finding one.

Good score illusion. I was reading a review of this knife and the reviewer was saying the blade was on the brittle side making it more of a slicer as opposed to a good all around knife. Any one have any thoughts on that?

Now worries illusion. I didn't even bid on it. I'm still in the "looking" stage myself. I'm also looked for a man bag knife. This one is still in the running.

Looking at how thick this knife is, I have no worries what so ever about it being too brittle.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking but someone did a review on another website(I wish I could find the link) and was saying the blade is prone to chipping due to the hardness. I'll probably still pick one up if I find a good enough price.

Well Its not going to be used hard, its more like a back up in my bag. I also have a breacher bar in my bag, so no need to pry anything with the knife.

Looking forward to see how this one is...

I carry pry bars as well. I just can't see using any knife for prying.

I got the knife to day, just handled it for 2 sec as I am still at work. Those pictures can really fool you, this is one "beefy" knife.. looking forward to play a little with it..
