Thank you very much for the pics and explanations. I agree with /Harald that this should be used as a Ph.D thesis! I also agree with you about this being an ongoing quest. I am a noob to EDC and find myself constantly searching for the ultimate edc carry.

thanks again and I'll have to search for you BOB thread,

    Jack

    Thanks for the kind words.

I really need to update the first post... I've made changes and now I'm even happier with it than I was before.

It truly is a never ending quest :( But, the quest make me happy :)

First post updated to include new revisions to keychain.

Click HERE to return to first post, then page down till you see this in red bold text:

Next photo dated 2008-02-26. From this point forward, new as of 04-02-08

Everything from that point forward is new.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Gang,

    Check out this site: http://www.thecompassstore.com/

Under specialty conmpasses... they do sell button compasses by the dozen, 20 mm liquid filled. They're not bad, I bought a dozen and keep one one in almost every bag, wallet, etc. that I have. Not sure if they'd fit in th capsule below, but check out the line of cool capsules here:

Hey Admin/Moderators... Did "ImageShack" stop freely hosting images??? I'm wondering where all of my old photos are?

I used to be a Moderator here. I hate to think all of those photos are "lost"... :(

Please let me know what you know about this.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Photobucket just decided to start charging $39 per month or $399 per year to allow third part hosting. I'm not sure about ImageShack. So, I have threads in various forums that go back as far as yours that I'm sure have broken links. I subscibe to Amazon Drive and have started converting Photobucket to Amazon Drive. I'm hoping Amazon doesn't get this bright idea. I can't imagine people paying Photobucket $39 each month just for third party hosting. Sorry to see your pics aren't available for view!

$399.99/year is stupid. For example, at digitalocean.com you can setup a droplet (e.g., use as a web server, sync your pictures to/from there using ssh+rsync) for $5 a month (20 GB storage, 1000 GB of transfers a month, 1 Gbit/s bandwidth). The web server can of course serve pictures from many different persons.
