Anyone remember the Kangaroos shoes with the pocket big enough to fit a quarter. Ultimate EDC shoes.

Had a pair of these in 6th grade 82-83. I've always figured they were an early sign of my EDC mania.

My local Walmart carries them. During my junior year of HS football the school bought us Kangaroos for practice cleats. They promptly fell apart when they got wet and we went to Adidas.

Your school bought your shoes for you? All we got provided were pads & helmet, then our game jersey, all of which had to be turned back in, but we had the option of buying our game jersey at the end of the year.

Many skate related shoes still have pockets in the tongue.

I have two pairs of Ipath Hemp Burnquists that have pockets in the tongues.

For sneakers without built-in storage, "sneaker wallets," which were small nylon pockets which had the laces run through them near the tops of the tongue were once a fairly popular product category. I expect they are still available at well stocked running shoe stores.

I just wanted them to put stuff in. Those old ones the pouches were so small they couldn't carry more than a few coins. I folded up and stuffed a dollar in one, but then they got wet once, and I went to get the dollar and it was wet and smelled like feet. I quit storing bills in there after that.

There's some things that need to stay "out of style"...

Having said that; I loved my camo 'Roos I was rockin' back in the 80's

In H.S. we were usually a .500 team. When I was in jr. high though we won most of our games, one against a team that had all the fancy gear, like those fancy rain/cold weather parkas with the teams logo on it, all their names on the backs of their jerseys, all had the same brand shoes, they even had some of those (very new at the time) eye shields! We beat them by around 20 points which in jr high around here is like an NFL team winning by about 50.:p

    NO!!!!

I thought they were cool in the 80s but hindsight has proved me wrong. Some fashions need to stay DEAD for the good of humanity.

Best glasses I ever had for on my bike. The kept the wind out perfectly and you could wear them off the bike without looking like you were wearing cycle glasses or goggles.

You can get great wraparound glasses nowadays that don't look look as ugly or cheesy as the Oakley Blades did. I still have flashbacks of the horrible giant 80s hairstyles and the skeezy mullets that were part of the Oakley look. Ugh.

I have tried about 10 different types, none of them work as good as those blades I used to have, Most of the new ones are hideous not the blades, that might have just been how they looked on the person you saw them on, cause I made them look REAL good!
