I have a (female) friend who swears Jalas Fantom Drylocks are the Best Boots Ever. They are available with aluminium caps and steel sole protectors, and in women's sizes. And they are waterproof. I'm more of a non-membrane-boot person myself, but I can vouch that Jalas makes excellent boots.

Xtra Tuf! Not very fashionable, they just work. Waterproof, warm, can be had with safety toe, full range of sizes.

+1 for redwings, mine will be 10 years old this year. The free lifetime laces and oiling are nice too.

I've got me a pair of Chippewa logger 2s and they are awesome! Waterproof, warm, safe, fit like..... well a boot ;) mind you they are a bit on the clunky side so not brilliant for driving cars and such.

Keen has a line of safety toe shoes that have a waterproof layer built in. I've stood in liquid up to my ankles while fixing stuff with no wetness seeping through. They also have women's models.

Doc Martens are available here but they're trash compared to what they used to be. I have a pair of oxfords and the only thing they have to recomend them is the company's no longer deserved reputation. I've heard the same from others so it's not just me.

You might be lucky because of your size in the Danner breakroom, monthly clearance email thing from the factory. I can get a $20 credit if you buy something using the link - otherwise just google it. I haven't bought anything yet because I'm a common size :(

Redwings are the best work boots I have ever worn, been wearing them for 30 years. I work on concrete floors all day 8-12hrs 6 or 7 days aweek in maint/construction work and when I get home its outside taking care of the horses in all types of weather. Redwing has a waterproof boot in a laceup or slipon. Best thing for Redwings would be to go to a dealer and try them on they fit different and will feel real tight when you first start wearing them, they need to be broken in for the first couple days. The dealers also sell Vasque which are a hiking style boot I have a couple styles of them too, they will last a long time. The average time I get out of a daily worn pair of Redwings is 7-8 years (not including insoles) could be longer if I didnt get so much oily fluids soaked in them.

Although I don't disagree that redwing is a quality boot, the longevity of the boot depends on the task. Waterproof or not, leather boots last a maximum of about six months in the plant I work in due to the syrup drying out the leather. For some stupid reason, it doesn't matter how much protectant I put on, when the sugar syrup we make gets on the leather boots, and then drys out overnight, it leaches the moisture out and cracks them rather quickly.

These boots are only two months old.
I like leather boots, but I had a pair of keen boots that lasted about 2 years in my work environment.

Kamm, you might want to consider non-waterproof boots. What I do is use a pair of Seal Skinz socks over a pair of lightweight socks with non-waterproof boots. Works great for me during wet weather. During our hot, drought summers though, the non-waterproof boots will breathe a lot better (naturally, at that time of the year I'm not using the Seal Skinz).
