I didn't get the water proof ones. I would think these have zero protection from water as they are very well ventilated. I'd like to add, the laces on these boots s*** the bed within a month or two. They are WAY too thin and the eyelets are too small for Paracord, which is what I always put in my duty boots when the factory ones break. I contacted UA who are sending me a new pair of laces, for whatever that's worth.
Swapped my 8" Carolina moc toes for some 6" Thorogood round safety toes. I have to say these are very comfortable although I am not sure of their durability.
Just find the perfect match in color for my Goruck Gr1, salomon X ultra trek GTX (also post the picture in Bag thread) Sent from my SM-T819Y using Tapatalk
I'm an EMT and spend most of my time in zip side duty boots. I know everyone's taste is different, but the thorogoods l wear are comfortable enough that I usually find myself wearing them in my free time. Diamondback slip on boots are also a contender on my list. Both of which have great slip resistant tread, are waterproof, and if you choose to, they both will take an amazing shine.
Recently I have only been wearing boots by Coogan London, and I find them great. I have the Hoxton boot in both suede and leather, and I have the Hampton Boot too which is described, on their website, as "Blue suede ankle boots for men. Part of our collection of men's chukka boots, these comfortable classics are made in a navy blue suede leather. The Derby style construction allows quick and easy access for the foot. Featuring a premium storm welt sole, this ankle boot is comfortable for all day wear. Perfect with both formal and casual trousers and jeans." I love these boots, the Hoxton's have needed no breaking in at all, I have been wearing the suede ones for a year now, at least 4 times a week in all kinds of bad conditions and they are still mega comfortable for me. I did get the leather ones in a light tan colour, which I have darkened with black shoe polish... Pics:
Leems boulder boots, light, and flexible. Large toe box, supposed to be more natural for the feet. Sole is flat, and thin enough to feel the ground somewhat, a bit like some bow hunting boots. Not going to be ideal for packing a heavy load over rocks, but most of the time I'd say they are great. Have some surplus Military boots from off ebay for yard work. One of my big regrets is not keeping my issued boots...at the time of my EAS, it seemed right to hang them in the Co. tree. (Alway wondered how long they hung up there)
Back in another pair of Blundstone 500's here. I keep seeming to end up in these boots as they are the most comfortable boots I can find.
Nice boots! Elephant hide is great stuff. I have a gunbelt rig and wallets made out it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
