This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you tighten the laces? The laces stretch and if pulled hard enough they stop stretching, when tension is released do they coil back just enough to allow for some stretch? I don't know if I am getting my intended thought across.

There's six inches of adjustment in the cord from full tight to loose. That lock where the knot would normally be can be loosened. And so far yes they stop stretching at a certain point and then recoil back when the load is released. Just started using this setup last week though, so we will see if it lasts

I used paracord with zip knots on the end as well. Just as quick but less give than bungee shock cord.

I started with the standard military issue leather black boots when I was in the army and
then picked up a pair of hot weather Altama Mil Spec desert boots (4156) to fit the hot climate in Singapore
after I finished army. Realised how affordable and comfortable Altama boots were compared to
other sneakers that will probably rip apart in a few years.

That same pair of Altama had served me well for at least 5 years in Singapore, nothing extreme
but used them like regular sneakers when I stepped out of my house. Brought those over to Japan
and had used them for a total of 15 years now. Sole and top cushion around the calf are all worn out but
these boots remain intact with no signs of structural failure. Scaled quite a few mountains here including Mt. Fuji
with the Altama but will not recommend it for hiking, hurts bad. (Those hiking trips were made on impulse when
a few drunk foreigners gathered in Japan, decided to scale mountains for fun!! )

Picked up the Bates USMC goretex waterproof boots (85506) along the years and yeah, great boots for crossing
shallow streams and other light water adventures. Seams that hold the sole to the main boot do not hold up
as well as the Altama. Seam failed after 1 year and the boots were quite heavy. Sole pattern is super slippery
in winter compared to other boots or shoe.

And then picked up a Crispi Sahara Evo after researching on Byteks Cobra boots.
Super comfortable and light, use it for mostly EDC and for work but the cotton sides offer
no protection when out in the hills so best keep it for urban usage. So far this is my
favourite pair of EDC boots that looks great and works well. Am looking at picking up a
pair of Byteks cobra from Russia.

Left is the original Byteks Cobra and the middle is the Crispi Sahara Evo. (Pic taken off the internet)

I wear Danner Acadias. I am on my feet a lot for both of my jobs so I needed something to keep my feet feeling as fresh as they do out of the shower. Love them and will be getting the reconditioned and resoled here shortly.

I'm not crazy about the looks but keen gets such good reviews, I thought I'd give them a try.

Oxblood Dr. Martens 1460 For Lifes with yellow paracord laces, but I usually wear them with "fire camo" laces (which are red, orange, yellow, and black). Super comfy. The airwair sole has spoiled me for a lot of other boots when I'm on my feet for a while.

How is the fit and break in period ? I am 11.5 wide ..? Read a number of things about RW sizing . Stopped at the store to check them out ... unfortunately they had nothing that would fit.
    Any info appreciated.
