Depending on my mood and what I'm doing, one of these:

    From left to right:
Ariat Workhogs, steel toe, really sturdy boots
Laredo python skin cowboy boots - snakeskin is always gorgeous when it's new, but doesn't wear well, so I only wear them sometimes
Lucchese Landon Caiman Tail cowboy boots, my newest favorite of the bunch.
Lucchese black cherry lizard skin cowboy boots
Ariat black cowboy boots, deer tan, I think
Red Wings 4116 steel toe logger boots, are my main hiking or cold weather boots. If I had to pick one pair to wear to the end of the world it would be these, even if they do weigh 10 lbs.
Danner Strikers (I think) with side zips. Some of the most comfortable boots I've ever had (especially laced with 1/8" bungee cord), but the sole wore way too fast for me and I'm not crazy about the style, after a few years of every day wear and then some, they're now relegated to boots to wear when painting.
Red Wings steel toe Romeo boots - these are the ones I wear to the office with a suit. I hate flimsy dress shoes with no traction. I want armor on my feet. These are sturdy and have soles good enough to run or climb in, but still look good enough under slacks. Highly recommended for the role.

    Right now, bare feet!

However, tomorrow I will have to don the snake boots and venture out behind the garage to whack weeds. Already had two dogs get snake bit (nearly killed one of them), so I don't want to join the club!!

So my snake boots are 18" Kevlar boots from Redhead. I can't even count how many times I've been struck on these boots (maybe 20+ times). The last time was in our basement (western diamondback rattler) (believe it or not)!! Surprisingly, the boots are really comfortable too! They're just really hot to wear.

Snakes are our friends, but gosh, sometimes they can get ornery!!

My biggest fear is now, we're starting to see rattlers who don't rattle before striking. That's how the two dogs got bit. (P.S. They're all vaccinated now for rattlers...just wish they had the Vac for humans!)

I didn't know there was a canine vaccine for rattlesnakes. Very interesting.

That's twice in this thread I've written a reply only to find it's not here, is it being deleted because I'm breaking a rule or is there a glitch in the matrix?

I've always been an advocate of the Timberland Chukka for my everyday boot. The buck hide is great, the soles wear out before the leather.

Wolverine 1000 mile boots. Just wishing they had a little more grip to them. May add a thin vibram sole.

I've had a pair of keen hiking boots for the past 8 months but had to take them back because the nylon lace loop thing had split and frayed. Replaced them with these (stock photo)
