I was looking into removing the knife on a multi tool or swiss army knife so it can be carried everywhere. I usually carry a dedicated knife anyway. Does anyone have pictures of knives they have modified? I was thinking about replacing the blad with scissors on either a Leatherman Skeletool or a Victorinox Cadet.

Yeah, I looked at those. The only one of them I liked was the dime travel. I already have a dime and love it. I kind of want to make my own, though.

what size MT? Leatherman makes the style PS which is TSA compliant, Victorinox does a few offerings in the classic size (58mm). If you wanted a larger tool I think a skeletool with the blade swapped out for Vic scissors would be pretty cool.

yea a multi tool with a good pair of pliers, wire cutters, scissors, and no knife would be ideal for me as well. I have not done much searching tho.

I was looking more at a full sized tool. Thanks, the skeletool idea seems to be a good one.

Leatherman Raptors are bladeless. They do have a scissors and a few other neat things.

Oh and meant to mention. The Skeletool would be great for removing the knife and replacing with scissors. I've considered and looked around but, from attempts of others, it looks incredibly difficult to do. I don't think anyone has achieved a seamless mod on this one. Would love to know if someone has though as this would be right up on my list.

I've put a pair of wingman sissors on a charge tti, but the wingman sissors are really bad. Maybe some victorinox sissors would work better?

I think the issue is the very large lock area on the Skeletool blade, much bigger than that on blades on the charge/wave. It means there seem not to be any scissors that will drop in and lock properly, you'd need to custom build some or attach an existing pair to a chunk of metal for the pivot (maybe mutilate the blade to be left with just the pivot area and an arm to attach scissors to?).

I've been considering modding a MUT in a similar way, but you have a similar issue, the blade is huge and thick, folding scissors are not. That's ignoring the hardship in swapping the scraper and pin punch for anything!

is there somewhere to buy just the vic scissors? I did a little digging and the only way i found to get them was to buy one of their tools, if i had that i would just use it instead
