MTFatboy They are good inexpensive knives. Kind of like a more pocket friendly Opinel. I do wish that MAM had a carbon blade version.

A carbon blade and I'd have two or three in the mail now. I'm still thinking about the stainless. It looks like a good first camp-sized knife for the kids.

Their stainless holds a edge pretty well . I think it would make a perfect knife for a kid due to the lack of a back spring like on a slip joint knife. Thinking about the blade on a slip joint snapping closed on my finger still makes me cringe.

Many, many years ago I joined an introduction course on bushcraft. Later I joined for another course. Now that bushcraft school published the first original Dutch book on bushcraft. You can imagine that I wanted, needed, a copy ;)

That has got to be one of the most fantastic & horrifying books I have ever read. Especially as a Type 1 Diabetic.

Probably an "average" sized assortment of cookbooks. These two are really reflect my general interest in essays--more a part of my literature collection.

With some of the other "A knife and ____" threads out there. I thought it might be fun to see what every one is reading along with one of their favorite blades.

Here is one of mine to get started.

    Book: "Blood and Thunder"
    Knife: Russell Green River Hunter
