Does anyone watch "Big Bang Theory" on CBS? What bag does Sheldon Cooper carry? it's a mystery, i've searched high and low across google for it and can't find any information out about it. I've even gone so far as contact CBS studios via snail mail and got no response from them! I've always thought it was a Domke model but they make camera bags and none that have outside pockets like that. Seen here on the left and again here in the 3rd section
I've seen other pictures that made me think Domke Reporter's Satchel, but the strap connection doesn't jive in these images. Unless that extra piece of webbing is extraneous, some of my older Domke's have a canvas webbing grab handle that crosses between the two top d-rings. I'm thinking someone is going to have to spend some quality time doing screengrabs from the HD boxset to get the "final answer" t
The Domke Reporters satchel doesn't have the correct outside flap pockets. believe me, I've gone up and down Domkes' lineup past and present and it's not a Domke Here's a screen grab I got during an episode.
The make and model of Sheldon's bag is one of the best kept secrets in the worlld. I also previously posted a thread asking the same question. I didn't get as much info as you did.
Tell me about it! I went so far as to start contacting CBS. I emailed them. They pointed me to the studio address. I sent a snail mail letter asking who makes it and can it be bought etc etc etc... I received NO response whatsoever. This bag's info must be locked in a vault somewhere along with that book all the Presidents have written in lol it's some matter of national security that no one can know who makes this bag. I bet it's not even a real bag but just a prop filled with peanuts to appear filled.......
I personally think that they are missing a tremendous marketing opportunity here. Even if it is a one-off special made for the show, they could license and/or manufacture them and probably sell them like hotcakes. I would think that the powers that be, especially for a show with fanboy characters, would see the potential for sales of prop replicas.
Next year if no one finds out I will try to ask at next years Comic Con, if I can ever get into that insane Hall H.
^ Are they coming again next year? I couldn't make it out there this year, but Brother brought back a Leonard shirt and doll for me!
They confirmed another season so I am guessing yes based on the fact they scored the big hall this year. My son loves TBBT. I bought him a Singing Soft Kitty plush, ever since he was born I sing him the soft kitty song all the time to put him to sleep
Its funny because the episode with Leonard and Sheldon standing outside the elevator was on last night on TBS, and I actually thought to myself "What messenger bag is he using?"
I have a friend who advises for the show. (The scientific adviser) I'll see if I can get it out of him. It might take a while though, he's currently leaving Macmurdo Station for the South Pole to work with the Penguins again.
Instead of contacting CBS, try the production company or the studio. BTW, what about this one http://www.messengerbags.uk.com/wagner-waxed-brown-canvas-messenger-bag-from-fossil_MBG1159200MESSBROWN.php
This is the address I sent too. Its public domain so it should be fine to post it. THE BIG BANG THEORY Warner Bros. Television 4000 Warner Blvd. Bldg. 188, 2nd Floor Burbank, CA 91522 That would be awesome if your scientific advisor friend can find out!
I've been waiting for this to go on sale http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-outerwear/43505.aspx
i saw a special about the show a a while back. i dont know the official title of the person, maybe costume designer? anyways, shes the person that dresses the entire cast. she was shown briefly, but she talked about how shes constantly shopping for new trendy clothes for the cast, talked about howard's buckles and pins that he wears on this neck collars. i bet she would know! might have to pause the credits to catch her name, and track her down to ask.
I've checked the companies web pages that are used for the episodes clothing's but no luck. I think it's a custom from someone.
Gah! I've been wracking my brain, seems like I know someone who is a lifetime friend of the girl who plays Sheldon's girlfriend (who's name I also can't remember). If I can ever recall, I'll put out the request. Just as likely it's a one-off job from the studio costume shop.
