Criteria: 1) Must be locking (no slip joints, etc.) 2) Must be a folder (no fixed blades) 3) Cannot be Spyderco (I know about the Chicago. Wanting other suggestions) 4) G-10 scales, FRN or similar material Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Sanrenmu GR5 605. 8Cr13Mov 1.71" blade, linerlock, G10 handles. I don't know if it's the best, but it fits the requirements.
To quote the cinematic masterpiece, Deuce Bigelow - European Gigolo, "Fine, I'll take my three inches elsewhere!" Probably not what you're looking for but I actually love the little Buck Metros. They're cheap, totally non-scary and fun to play with.
I've never sampled anything Al Mar. Seems a little pricey though for AUS8 steel. I do like stout blades though... even in a small knife.
Cold Steel Micro Recon 1 for size, but the Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite for just the BEST knife with a 2 inch blade. You can get an amazing amount of grip on it, the blade shape just puts a zipper on EVERYTHING in the world, and CS put their Triad lock on that mini monster. Amazing.
Spyderco makes some great small blades. The Ladybug 3 is by far my favorite little blade, especially with all the steel options.
Leaning towards the Cold Steel just because I think the Al Mar is pretty pricey for AUS8 steel and pinned construction. Any other suggestions? Sent from my XOOM 2 ME using Tapatalk 2
The Al Mar SLB is plenty tough, and a very high build quality. I wouldn't fret too much about the AUS-8, it does a nice job.
