hey all, thinking about adding a fixed blade to the HK OTF and Kershaw Auto I usually rotate with. I'm leaning towards IWB strong side, since when I'm working I can't carry a gun but can have knives with up to 5.5" blades. Can be double sided. what if anything is available? Problem is the typical dress code is tucked in polo and khakis. I don't typically wear a sweater or anything over it. I also spend way too much time behind a desk, so it has to be comfy. anything like this possible?
Bradford Knives Guardian 3 in the leather sheath is pocket friendly and can be had in N690, M390 and S30V. I have carried mine in pocket in an office environment.
Looks like you'll need ankle carry configurations to conceal it adequately. Real shirts, as opposed to polos, make concealing IWB items a bit more doable.
If you have the use of your front or back pockets there are many small fixed blades that fit nicely in pocket sheaths. They disappear in the pocket until you need them. IWB is going to be tricky if your shirt is tucked in and it has to be concealed. @Todd C.: also just want to tell you I dig the Seiko 5 in your pic! One of my favorite 'clan' of watches! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
There are two concealed carries that work for me: front pocket and IWB with a retention cord. Front pocket is much more comfortable while I'm sitting or driving. But I have carried a RAT-7 IWB to keep it from getting snagged while hiking through the jungle as a backup blade . For front pocket, I like the Spyderco Street Beat (and a few others like the ScrapYard 411) with a deep pocket clip mounted for reverse grip and a short lanyard. Out of the box, the CRKT Ringed Razel is a great pocket carry. I never tried one but the Ridgeback looks like a great option. I believe the best concelable knives are the ones with a short handle. I still have a Boker CLB MPT that stays out of the way easily. Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk
I appendix carry a Ka-Bar TDI rather often. Even with my gut it's pretty darn comfortable and entirely concealable with a properly sized but not oversized shirt.
Check out the CRKT Acquisition. It's on closeout over at woot today for $22, list of $60 on CRKT's site but imagine you should be able to find it for $30-40. Has a nice, hi retention kydex sheath with a nice IWB option.
UPDATE: While I'm looking and shopping around I ended up with a Microtech Ultratech D/E OTF. fits easily and discreetly in the rear pocket but fires out to be a pretty decent dagger with glass breaker on the back side. so far it's been 100% and it rides well. I'm not sold on anything I've seen for IWB carry yet. some of the suggestions have been great so keep them coming!
Compliance Edge makes some great designs, some of which very concealable. I do thave any (yet) but I’ve follow him for years on Instagram and they look super high quality. Borka SBTL or SBKL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
thanks for the head's up on Compliance Edge, liked and following myself! Should have been more specific on the prices I guess, Borka blades cost more than my first car, so that's probably over the limit...
