Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilot, Todd 'Woody' Woodford, has managed to capture the exact moment he fired an AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radiation (HARM) missile in a perfectly timed cockpit selfie.
It would look cooler if he releases the countermeasures while a rocket is right behind his plane, and capture that moment .
Well, today's madness for cool selfies are making people do inane stuff... (No hate for OP and OP's pic at all).
Ya got something comin' loose on the plane... IF that really is an A2A combat selfie, that dude's got very shiny brass!
At a cost of between US$280,000 - US$870,000 each the HARM missile has to be the ultimate EDC for a fighter pilot.
More info on the picture: Aircraft is an EA-18 Growler. The pilot, FLTLT Woodford, is currently assigned to US Navy Squadron VAQ-135 and is the first Australian to launch a HARM missile. The selfie was taken off the coast of Pt. Mugu, CA, during a live fire exercise.
