So I got these Scales Yesterday and though I am having issues with them they are Spectacular too! I wish I could get better pics of them.
I have two knives from this design family; one is a twin to yours; the other is the other is a BM530BK - labelled as a 'spear point with black coating (although to me its more like a dagger shape...). I love these. Slim, light weight. I view them as the logical ancestor to the BM Bugout. In fact, given that I have these I see no reason to get a Bugout! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
The Bugout is definitely of the same family as the 53*s but enough of a difference to warrant having both. At least that's how I try and justify it to myself.
I have never really been in love with my 530 and was thinking about the Bugout but the resemblance has kept me from checking it out further. That and my complete lack of self control of course?
You actually try to justify this stuff to YOURSELF? Most of us just look to justify to 'she who must be satisfied...'. Or, as I do -- always better if needed to get forgiveness rather than seek agreement/permission ahead of time! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I just got back from a few weeks on the road and these Wilkins Scales were here waiting for me! It is tough to describe just how much they have transformed this Ritter Grip! I have had several different scales on this knife but it literally feels like a different blade wearing these scales somehow? I think this one might drop too freely? If that is possible. The Quality is tangible! The Grail Scale!
I just won an Ebay auction for a used, like new Adamas fixed blade for $81. I didn’t expect to win it, but woke up this morning to the news. I’ll never buy another new Benchmade.
Just in today. The tanto was cool for about 5 minutes, but I prefer a good drop point. My grind came pretty wonky from the factory so I took it upon myself to reprofile, resharpen and make it a little less...tanto-y. This is going to be my new "nice" work knife. How did you get that blue back space thingy in there? Mine has both scales touching together... you have an open 'back' - I have an older model? or just cool new scales?
