Found it on ebay several years ago. Around $70 shipped. Wish I would have purchased another one

Recently added a Mini Grip in 20CV to the herd. Bought online and no QA issues to report which is nice.

You always post such beautiful, pristine knives. Makes me jealous. I only wish I could keep mine looking so nice.

    @0311B50 your knifes are users!
We don't "need" collector knifes, (we just want them).
I personally trust user knifes more. Good group!

I've been watching the 'Benchmade Controversy' making-the-rounds on the Internet forums. I find the whole thing both stupid, and perplexing at-the-same-time. Why would a company, alienate it's group of 'core-buyers' with it's actions? Cutting-up guns is not a good look for any concern, that counts 2A supporters among it's market-share. I realize that Benchmade is based in Oregon, which is a reliable Democrat stronghold. The company 'philosophy' claims 'unwavering-support' for the right to keep, and bear arms. So many; find it problematical, that the CEO Les De Asis would support only anti-gun politicos with his money. Which further came-to-light, after the Oregon City Police posted a thank-you blurb, and pic of guns being destroyed at the Benchmade factory. Benchmade claims they were being a good 'corporate neighbor' by helping the local police. Okay. But the 'political contributions' are another matter entirely. The company posted a vid with Les De Asis offering a vague explanation regarding the 'blow-up'. But no mention, of the money donated to gun-hating 'Donks'. As you can imagine, this has brought-out all the haters who will knock the Benchmade product line on price, and quality. The company is going to have to do some major damage-control on this topic. The monetary loss will be way more, than the political contributions to the Dems. Apparently, these donations date-back to the 2010 election year, and are all to the 'Donks'. Who are, in most cases against legal knife-owners too! I hate to see a good company, go-down-the-crapper, over some silly mistakes.

Haven’t paid much attention to this whole situation, so I haven’t even looked for Benchmade’s response. The way this guy explains it makes sense to me, though, and I’m OK with their actions.

I posted this on another popular forum. Thought it might be applicable here...

Call me crazy but I'm going to keep buying Benchmades. I don't care about a company's political affiliations as much as I care about their products and customer service. I have have nothing but pleasant experiences with both.

As far as cutting guns...not sure about up in Oregon but my department sells guns on gov deals as long as they are legal. However, most guns in our property room are geared to be destroyed because they have been illegally modified.

I have no problem with a gun thats been stolen and had the serial number filed off being destroyed. These are the guns that typically end up in criminal's hands and are used in the commission of crimes. It's not like Benchmade is cutting up mint condition Colt Pythons and brand new ARs.

Bonus...a few pics of the OG Altitude. This one is up for grabs cause I'm pining for a 43x now that I can get it with a black slide.

Bonus Bonus... I'll have my cake and eat it too.

Nothing to do with the 2A. Good on you Benchmade. They needed help and Benchmade helped.

Political donations are what have most in an uproar, not the destruction of firearms which was just the catalyst for discovery. Benchmade has a long list of questionable practices, this is just another to add to it.

I understand that PD Chief could have sold the guns and used money for the department?
That's one think I read about.

These two just about cover the entire-spectrum in cutting eventualities. If not, the Wave Plus covers everything else.

You really like that yella Evo!
I have one of the first Leatherman tools (Marlboro on the sheath), a gift from when I saved coupons for a friend. Used to hide them in strange places and we would have a laugh over at the Legion post...

Yep, they used to have coupons for gift premiums back-then. A friend at work, got me a nice mantle clock that way from Marlboro. A Harry Winston clock IIRC.
