+1 for Hank's Amish. Looks like a normal leather belt. I've used mine for almost 2 years and it's nearly like new. Rock solid.
I have the 5.11 leather belts and 5.11 operator belt (metal buckle). Both kinds have been very good belts, although the reinforced leather belts are much more rigid. I like them for different reasons, and for different holsters.. my iwb Holsters work better with the leather belts, and owb and mag holders work better with the nylon operator belt for IDPA. Again, this is just what works best for me..
My entire rig was custom made by a leather shop here in NC. Belt, IWB/OWB convertible holster, leatherman sheath, and flashlight sheath Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
old school... Milt Sparks fancy stitched belt with brass buckle... this was my competition rig for about 5 years, and the belt was daily wear for 34 years as a classroom teacher
If you can wear nylon, Special Operations Equipment EDC belt. That's what I always wear. If it has to be leather, either galco or Milt Sparks would be what I reccomend.
Stiffness, I think. One thing that really helps with that is having two layers of leather stitched together, instead of just one, thick layer. An Armour belt is what I use, but the Beltman belts get a lot of good reviews, too. A lot of holster companies make belts like this, as well.
