This is about as minimal as I go - trying out the new additions. Initial impressions of the Skeletool are good, feels a lot better built than I expected for the weight.

Yeah... The skeletool cx is the only recent leatherman I've tried that doesn't feel like a joke. Except for the nonsprung pliers.

Pretty pathetic. :p Trick is to stand in the shade. Even in the shade of that tree or lamp post or whatever to your right in that picture.

I'm actually from Manchester via Liverpool and Newcastle and with Scottish blood on both sides so as you can imagine I'm as white as a sheet :) Living here you learn soon to find the shade :)

Weather is sunny and cool, biked to work today with a fleece only. 13-20 C today. We've had some good rain (it's exciting when it rains here, as a Manchester boy who grew up with constant never ending drizzle I find that hilarious) but it's not dropped under 11 C yet. It does get cold though, under the 0 mark and the houses aren't built for it, they're built to let heat out not keep it in. When it's cold here it's so very cold. If only because you never properly get warm. Another thing, was in Scotland last week, first thing I noticed as my walking is a lot worse these days, is that the paving stones are so much more grippy than here where they are polished smooth from heat and walking. It was Storm Abigail and the rain was unlike anything I'd ever seen but I never worried about slipping. When it starts raining here I get nervous to walk.

Starting off 2016 with a slightly updated carry - definitely shorts weather now and I'm not lugging an 18650 and 10oz LM around in thin :censored: pockets.

    Skinth from the passaround box
    Alox Farmer
Mini Bic (to stop the alox slipping out it's slot, no other reason)
    ZL SC52W
    LM Style PS

The Farmer and Style PS go perfectly together, no overlap in tools at all but the combo has everything I could reasonably need. Probably.

Everything packed and ready for action

At the same time I got the Farmer I picked up the 2015 Limited Alox Cadet, in Steel Blue. No pictures of the colour do it justice, imo it's stunning. Haven't carried it yet.. or used it.. but somewhere along the line it's picked up a minute, tiny, scratch that I'm sheared off about. Guess I'll have ot use it now eh!

Nice Farmer, love the colour. ;)

If that Cadet is scratched feel free to put in the passaround box. :giggle:

Resurrecting this for a quick pic as I'm off out.. Bullet 10l for a quick 5k (ish) with the dog. Walking, as running is too much like effort for me today.

Turned back early due to what can only be described as the heavens opening and it pissing it down moments after I took this.

Rejigged my carry lately, so I figured I'd share an updated load.

First up is the pocket - Charge TTI in leather sheath with my Eagletac D25A Ti in one side and a battery for it in the other. Need to rethink this for summer or it'll drag my shorts down though.

Maxped Micro that comes out the house every time I do.

    Best estimation of contents is
    Left side:
    Eagletac D25LC2
    Spare battery cannister for D25LC2
    Whistle, and Bic lighter
    3000mAh Anker battery pack
behind those are a strip of water tablets, band aids and a micro usb to usb cable

    Right side:
    A pen
    Sawyer mini water filter
    Leatherman bit kit
Silver tech SAK climber and sharpie behind bit kit
    USB plug
behind that a spare transit card

Maxped fatty, or jumbo I'm not sure any more, comes with my on longer trips, or will kick around in the car if we're out for the day

    Contents
    Left side:
    Uniball eye
    Fenix whistle
Tampon - nosebleeds or wife, whichever needs it more
    AA Battery
D25A Ti - the one I never use because I don't like the tint haha
    Spare cannister of CR123as
Behind those is jerky, zip ties and a single use toothbrush

    Right side:
    USB Cable
    Sunscreen
LMF Spork in the ugliest colour known to man
    Deodorant
    SAK Swisschamp
    Foldable water bottle
    Anker 10000mAh power bank
God knows what's behind it, and I'm not unpacking to find out!

Finally got around to assembling a kit to shove in the glove box, so here's that too.

    Contents
    Left side:
    SAK Mini
    Spyderco Delica Wave
    LMF firesteel
    behind it a RITR notebook

    Right side:
    Miscellaneous pen
    Armytek Viking
    Mints tin with basic FAK
    paracord
behind that is a space blanket

Not bad for things I've thrown together that I don't use any more, but could do with some improving. Trouble is I don't want to sink money in to something I'll more than likely not use, so.

Late night family portrait, with the shiny new Surge on the end. It's.. un-necessary. It's heavy, bulky, and overbuilt. I bloody love it!

Got to admit I think I peaked too early with Leatherman though. Apart from the Style PS that doesn't really count I went straight to the TTi. From that I got the Skeletool for lighter carry, and now the Surge, I feel like I've covered all my bases with Leatherman in the three tools and don't like the idea, or see the need, to 'go from any of them to a lesser model. Unless I get in to *collecting* them, haha. Now there's a plan.

Extended the Goruck collection, with a Wolf Grey and Black Bullet 10, Blaze Orange 21l and WG 26l. The family is growing, and my first Mystery Ranch on the way :D

Also, I picked up a new Swiss Army knife yesterday, haha.
