The owner of EDCF, JonSidneyB, thinks that bacon does not belong on a burger. Despite my best efforts to persuade him otherwise he is adamant in his position. Please help me convince him that he is WRONG.

I'm with you Rothrandir. Jon doesn't know what he's talking about.

The pig and the cow are equally delicious, especially when enjoyed together. ;)

A burger CAN be eaten without bacon on it, but I wouldn't advise it. There are very few if anything that bacon doesn't go with.

If it's HIS burger, bacon doesn't belong there!
YOU are perfectly welcome to put whatever you like on YOUR burger!

War, famine, global warming(NOT!), and the thing that you consider to be of the most consequence, all you can think about, is bacon on your burger?

Like the cartoon of the guy standing at the wishing well, about to toss a coin in. The balloon above his head reads:
"I wish for world peace, an end to hunger, and cure for cancer. But first I wish for a new Corvette."

Or, in your case, "But first I wish for double bacon on my burger." :)

I like to have a bacon cheeseburger sometimes but I prefer burgers without bacon. I vote "tolerated".

I like the bacon to accompany strong English mature cheddar.
As for the guy standing at the wishing well wishing for a new Corvette. That is extremely reprehensible when he could be asking for a new Suzuki 750 GSXR!

Hickory smoked applewood bacon was destined to end up on a burger. Just like cheese. ;D

If it's an option, I want it, I can eat it without if for some reason there's no bacon to be had, I voted Much preferred. Bacon makes the world taste better. I however like bacon that doesn't have too much of a smoked flavor.

I am of the opinion that bacon was not "meant" to enhance a burger, so much as many, many foods, including the noble hamburger, are significantly enhanced by the addition of bacon.

Bacon is delicious. It makes other things it touches more delicious. Especially lean, crispy bacon. There's no greater porcine travesty than limp, fatty, undercooked bacon (and yes, I consider this worse than stuff like pigs' feet and other weird "let's eat every part of the darn animal" foods). Whenever I encounter such a waste of good pork, I feel sorry for the pig who gave it's life in vain. I mean, I know not EVERY cut can be perfect, but let's have some respect for the animals we're eating!

And who remembers that scene from "Pulp Fiction," where Jules and Vincent are discussing the merits and demerits of the pig as a source of food. Jules contends that pigs, who root around in their own filth, are "filthy animals," and not fit for consumption. Vincent counters with:

"Yeah, but BACON tastes GOOD! PORK CHOPS taste GOOD!"

    Can't argue that!
