I could definitely see carrying the Cricket or Spin in a back pocket - no longer than the knives are, you wouldn't be sitting on them.

FWIW, in-waist-band (IWB) carry has more to do with clip position than the size of the knife. For instance, I have quite comfortably carried a Caly3 IWB, but I could not carry the smaller BM MiniGrip. The Caly3 has a clip at the very end of the handle, so the knife sits below the top of the waist band. The MiniGrip's handle sticks out above the waist band and makes it uncomfortable to carry. YMMV.

i like carrying my karambit in my back right pocket. in addition to a knife in my front right.

i do this only when i feel really uncomfortable in a neighborhood.

it's probably as safe as any other way of carrying, especially if it's a folder.

i've made pocket sheaths for smallish fixed blades and no one's been crippled...yet.

that said personally i don't like to carry that way, i sit on it while i'm driving and it makes my butt look big when i'm not.

Like alot of others have said it really depends on your pants and personal preference. I wear 5.11 taclite pro’s and my primary knife sits in the back right pocket. Of course these are huge pockets and come around to the side quite a ways so the knife is more on my side than back. But for me it’s a great fit and the knife doesn’t get beat up by my keys coming in and out of my pocket.

I keep my knife in my back left pocket, tip up and pushed to the outside. I haven't had too many problems but a deep carry clip solves most of them.

Latest update for me on this...

If I have room, knives go in my front right pocket. The majority of the time though, I carry them iwb. :) it's super comfy iwb.

I carry my small Buck Vantage clipped in my back pocket sometimes. Most of the time, I just carry a Spyderco Ladybug 3 in my coin pocket. It's big enough to do the job and has fit nicely in the coin pocket of every pair of pants I own.
